Projects Dodge This - 1939 Dodge Southeast Gasser Build

  1. The fuel pump was dying and we kept changing the pill bigger and bigger. Then at the final run I was swinging for the fence and went too big on the pill and it bogged it. I keep going back over that pill decision in my head. The other car had us covered ET wise so maybe we would have lost anyway.

  2. It's been 1 month - Miss Kim had neck surgery and is doing great now. They fused L5 & 6 best thing she ever did. Look for her to be backing up again this year.

The injection setup was sent to Gene Adams - we didn't touch anything - sent linkages and all the pumps too. He said the #8 injector was plugged and the pump was down 25%. o_O and it ran a 5.67 like that.

Went to the banquet this weekend and had a blast! Miss these nutty guys. They awarded me Sportsman of the year. That was not expected or earned - I didn't know this was going on so we sat at the table and sipped whiskey shots we sneaked under the table. Then just like that I was on stage and had no words  oh well - I thanked my sponsor Quicktime Bellhousings and quickly bailed out :D

  3. @seadog made this killer canvas picture thanks Tom! Good seeing you!

Well deserved award Tony. Didn’t you let a hoodlum named Gabe use the Q&D to make some passes so he could stay in the points competition? I’d say that’s pretty sportsman like. Snowman

I've known Tony and Kim for a number of years now, and they are a classy couple, first rate. It doesn't surprise me in the least that Tony did what he did for Gabriel.

great news about the misses and the well deserved award. The Gabe stuff as mentioned above plus not letting the clutch explosion, keep you out for more than a couple events shows yor dedication. I'm looking forward to another great season following the SEGA. THE SPORTSMANSHIP is unparalleled

  14. Yeah I had to do it - he's not a grown man but damn can he cry.

    Thanks man!

Now that Gabe fixed the chassis driving issues, I have no excuses left for getting eliminated .

Ok, that's what she ment when she said I clean up nice!

  20. Sure hope she clean up nice! It's a 1946 Dodge panel truck. Picked it up near Charleston South Cackalaky where some other cool cats cleaned up nice and came out to help load her fat ass.

Congratulations, what a great find. I have been looking for a couple of years for an early Dodge panel with no luck. Never in a million years even hoped to find one that nice. I also am interested in your plans for this little truck...

Until now I never really realized that you possessed that same genetic flaw as Dave V. and Ken M, that of the dreaded disease: Mopar Mania.

  28. Tow rig for the Q&D - thinking same paint scheme - gonna call it "Strip Search" as in drag strip ....

It is solid - I saw one for sale either on Ebay or Facebook in NorCal I think but this fell in my lap - I wasn't even looking.

It did - and it decided to not run after I unloaded it - in the field - but its got a charger on it and it will get driven into a horse stall soon. It doesn't have any brakes - zero.

    Yeah them guys!
