  1. Hell yah'. Was just thinking about you and this one, the other day. Guess it's past time for a stalker tag, but, while I'm here ..... bam.

Any updates on this? I just re-found this thread tonight... Nice work you've done!

  4. Let's bring this to the top, I just found a 29 rdst body and like where this is headed. My rdst pickup had a similar rear set up . I used a panhard bar and a rear sway bar. I'm putting together a 32 Pheaton this time, I'm using ladder bars and shackles on the springs. I think this will hold the pinion angle through it's travel.

  5. Thanks guys....I've had a little pause in the action to work on restoring one of my Dad's old dirt track cars. So, I'll post up a few pics of that.

  6. I studied a few pics of your roadster pickup! I still may set this up so I can run a torque link. We’ll see!

  7. So I was at Back to The Fifties this weekend and Brookville was there .... and they had a set of Roadster quarters.
They just barely fit in my wife’s VW CC. I don’t think she was impressed. IMG_0400.JPG IMG_0399.JPG

  8. Here’s my diversion that’s kept me off the Roadster.
My Dads old dirt modified. It’s an Edmunds copy that he built in 69/70. It also won the Minneapolis State fair championship 2 years in a row on the paved oval.

  9. Here’s a roadster my Dad built and my Uncle has finished. They built a hood this winter for it. It runs a 292 six, and will get a split manifold soon.

  10. Some of you may recall I was building a chopped hemi powered hiboy 34. I traded it minus motor for the 40 coupe and the deuce rails. It’s changed hands again and the new owner has done a great job finishing it. I’ve been getting updates second hand. Here’s a few pics.

The modified is cool. Like your uncle’s roadster too. I bet a 292 in that light body will really move off the line.

    Thanks,

Is the 40 dripping rearend lube on the roof of the tudor? Or is it ready for HAMB Drags 2018?

And what's the Minnesota State Fair Championship stuff you talk about? There's no track on that fairgrounds. I was just there last weekend and could see as plain as day. ;) (Yes, I know....)

  15. ....haha. Well, the rear cover is off, I have the broke axle slid out and need to pull the broke piece out.
Trying to locate a used 31 spline posi , and I might order a new 9 inch housing.

    Shame that track is gone.....

You always have some cool stuff going on. Is there any more info or pictures on the roadster? I’ve got a Chevy 292 on the stand in my shop..

  18. ....Sure as long as were off track. I had a kid in high school tell me his Dad had an old "Roadster" in his barn and I didn't believe him. Later my Dad was helping them set up a dirt car and they showed him the Roadster and gave it to him for helping them out. It was a real turd of a build literally that is pig shit dust, but it was a real roadster.....

Early pic of my brother checking it out.

Dad made the rails from 2X6 tube, contoured and tapered them. It has a Halibrand rear with wide 5 hubs a homage to his dirt track days

    Pretty major dog-house to fit a 292.

  21. Thanks for asking. I've had a few other priorities come up that has kept the roadster on the back burner. First restoring of my Dad's old modified (I'll post a pic). This past December we also moved, so last fall was getting our house ready to sell, and now were getting the new home to our liking inside, then I need to get the house garage to my liking.

I’m Not Dead Yet. House is updated, house garage is updated, and have a garden shed, sold the condo garage, bought a shop, tinned, wired, lit, cemented, landscaped, partially finished the modified race car, did some drag racing, sold the 32 sedan, bought a 61 Belair, aaand I started back on the roadster! 26. Looks like a great neighborhood! Are those buildings behind houses, or stand alone shops?
TWO Deuces and a 40? Impressive!
