  8. Great T and those Daimler motors are hugely overlooked even here in the U.k. Here's a link to the British Drag Racing Hall of Fame and a guy called Russ Carpenter. Had the good fortune to meet him a few times and hear his rail fire up....try over a 1000bhp Et's in the 7s for the quarter mile and all from a tiny 2.5litre/153 cubic inch motor!

Andrew, his son helped me outa lot with tips on this engine.

  10. @Nads I love this build...
Do you happen to have some pics of that intake... I see a couple of SU's and some tubing sticking out but can't get my head around how that all works on that engine.
I had euro spec carbs and intake on an OT Triumph Spitfire years ago. loved those SU's, so easy to tune.
    thanks,
    Chappy

62371584-87AA-4D9A-B6BA-8CE7D0A5343F.jpeg The top one is the intake it has two SU at an angle feeding each bank. The bottom one is one that was in the process of being modified for a single two barrel. All of the other stuff you see is the intake tubes which are stock as is the air cleaner. 33CF9A8A-81F3-4A5C-AAC1-67493EE905BF.jpeg 62371584-87AA-4D9A-B6BA-8CE7D0A5343F.jpeg 33CF9A8A-81F3-4A5C-AAC1-67493EE905BF.jpeg

Sadly, I wouldn't be able to drive that beaut. I have never mastered shifting with my left hand, Nads. I had a heck of a time drivin' this MG around the block.

Other than wiring the turn signals the Carpor-T is done. I never thought that six years after buying that engine and it sitting on a corner for four of them that it would powering this hot rod. That was never my intention but that’s how it worked out. 07E04BD1-DF2F-4297-BCE9-861B3CEF66D5.jpeg

These are NOS Rockets from 1972 that came in the original boxes, it’s almost a shame to be using them. DE5A9C4D-61D7-4586-AEE1-DF8F68935922.jpeg 2F7828E2-550F-4EDA-AD9C-3CBE966EF184.jpeg

The Carpor-t is totally bitchin. The headlights are perfect! Edsel grill, tail light and rear nerf...man so cool it hurts.

This is an example of the neatest cars coming from the humblest beginnings. The best part is it will piss off all the so called "purists" and gatekeeper priesthood types of hotrodding. This thing is alive and coming to eat your children. Squares are soiling themselves over it I'm sure...

It is, I’m going to find a smaller junk wheel about 13” in diameter and cut down the banjo and weld it to it. I didn’t think ahead about how thick the upholstery was going to be.

I like your build, Bud, but would like to address some possible problems down the road. The headers appear to point uphill just a bit and toward the body where they might burn paint on the doors.

It’s gonna get pipes that exit below to a muffler, but yeah the paint probably will get hurt.
