I have a Chevy 350 engine I got numbers of the back of the block but can't decode them i'm hoping someone can help me out to get the building specs on this engine? I have hit up every decoding site I could find on the net with no results. There are also three letters in caps at the end of one of the numbers (TPM) I can't find any information about what the stand for!

    Top # K062869
    Lower # TK 7502869

Any help would be appreciated! KJ...

Generally though..any engine suffix application code that begins with a T is from a truck.

As others mentioned, I think you want the numbers from the front of the block. The image here shows where, then go to 348-409.com, select the 6s and small v8s tab, and the codes will be defined. I’m sure there are many other sources too, but I already knew about the 348-409.com list.

Is the TPM code on the end of one of the numbers you listed? I'd think it would be after the K0628, but there would only be 4 numbers, not six like you show. If it were, then it's a valid code for a 1989 350 engine in a truck.

Too little info here to go on. Pictures will help.

  7. Left side back of the block - get your flashlight & maybe some brake clean and a rag. Look down behind the rear of the left cylinder head & you will see where the block is exposed (spray and wipe to read the number clearly. Example on my block is 3970010. You can't miss it.

Looks like K062869 could be a Canadian block? K= St Catherine's. Ontario.

    Engine ID Code Example: V0107CLJ - (V = Plant, 01 = January, 07 = 7th Day, CLJ = Engine Suffix Code)
    Another example: T0830CTY - (T = Tonawanda, 08 = August, 30 = 30th day, CTY = 1970 396 Camaro, 375 hp, 11.0:1, TH400)

Code Engine Plant Code Engine Plant
F Flint (Motor) S Saginaw Service
    H Hydramatic T Tonawanda
K St. Catherines, Ontario V Flint (Engine)
    (McKinnon Industries Canada)
    M GM of Mexico

    I bet about a 4 inch bore.

I always wonder about these kind of posts (no offense to the OP), but are these posts made to "run it as is" or "should I build it up"?,

    I mean it's a SBC 350.

  11. If you're buying, it's a high mileage truck block. If you're selling its a virgin high perf Corvette.
