That is a very cool car! I hope I can still enjoy a car like that when I'm 90

 

Fat fingers, he's really 80, he's one of those people that never missed a step, still on the go go go, he built that car within the last few years.

This guy was the main manager/operator of the wind tunnel at GM Harrison, he was known to bring his drag cars into the tunnel for testing..ha ha

 

I am not about to go back through 196 pages of this thread to see if these pictures have been posted before but this car is currently advertised on Racing Junk with the following description:
"Corvette Drag Car. Mr VOO DOO 1958 corvette In 1961 James Sparacino of Dallas Texas bought this car and drag raced it till 1974 when he died. Family members continued to run Mr VOO DOO until it was parked in the family garage around 1977 and the wife keep it the there till 2006 when she want into a rest home. this car has not been cut or altered by anyone. as it was when James drove it. motor is 1963 327 with camel-hump heads, solid roller cam, tunnel ram is an Edelbrock TR 1, 2 660 holleys. Tube axle and transverse leaf spring. rear end is a 1962 Olds with 5.13 gear. Have old photos, original title, and registration tags. A perfect candidate for NCRS heritage class. In hot rod magazine in 2007."

There's more going on with this car then it first appears. It looks to me like it's got a flip forward front end among other things. I like it.

I love this Iconic photo the Cunningham Corvettes at Lemans in 1960.
Although it was a great effort, only the # 3 car was successful, winning
it's class.

 

I don't think so 65pacecar the guy is from Nice CA.

Now we're recycling pictures! the story as i remember was: the man is Mick Roberts, picture was taken in Black Oak (Gary) Indiana. The vette was his daily driver and weekend racer.

 

Here’s the companion picture hanging by my bar, my Dad is the man kneeling in front of Mr Roberts. also a stub From the 1964 AHRA (?) nationals at US 30. I believe he won his class at the race. I apologize if I have butchered the truth here but that’s the story as I remember it.
