It was the JJ#3 - and besides the Mar. 2012 R&C article featured above there

was a more recent article on Bernie in the Mar. 2018 Rodding USA mag. Bernie was great character that would talk your ear off . . . RIP Bernie Couch - his Roadster will be on display at the GNRS next week.

 

I'm going to miss Bernie and I was really hoping to see him this week at the GNRS with his newly restored roadster. When I saw him at the LARS last summer he was so excited that it would be on display with the contender's and was planning to be here with it. I guess God had other plans but Bernie lived life well and I'll never forget Bernie and the stories that he told us. Godspeed Bernie!

I'm just seeing this, man I ran into Mr. Couch of all places in a mexican restaurant in Anaheim 2013 while vacationing from Texas, it was all by chance. I had on a SCTA El Mirage shirt on and he came up to me and said "I was there" that's how the conversation started and we talked for a 15mins, one of the best conversations I ever had. We thanked each other for our Service, hugged and said Goodbye. I will never forget that day. I'm saddened to hear of his passing this late, I'm so sorry for the family and the HotRod communities loss. May he Rest in Paradise.
