Just read the entire thread. Amazing! Great skills, great imagination and ingenuity. The hot rod looks great! You have every right to be proud of what you accomplished. Many of us would come up short if we attempted such a project. And you did it on a budget and with what you had! Nice job!

Looks brilliant. Would love to hear some sounds of it running.
Not lots of money spent, but huge amounts of imagination and repurposing with great crafted work. Well done.
    Cheers,

Sounds like you nailed it. I rarely get over 170 and my oil pressure 45k miles after rebuild is 55 at cold start, 42 at cruise, 35 plus at hot idle.

When you get up and out with so little weight you will probably be able to cruise around in third, mine pulls steadily from 10 mph in high. 30 to 50 on level ground in high is right about 7 seconds. Thats toting 2970 pounds.

Thanks for all the praise guys. I would love to shoot a video for you all but I have never been able to upload videos. Maybe my buddy Ryan aka sodakmini can shoot and post one if he comes up to the shop this weekend. I think you guys would get a kick hearing it run.

So the other day when I first got her running I climbed underneath while it was idling and the flywheel was spinning out in the open with no cover on it. Today I built a cage to go around it. Looks kool and is a lot safer. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

It seems to me, if some thing got in there going down the road, it might play hell with ring gear and stuff before it could get out. I might add some expanded metal screen to keep big chunks out.

Maybe but rocks, misc metal, other foreign matter might not make good seasoning.

I stopped by to see Rusty this morning and check out this jalopy, been awhile since I’d seen it. This thing is flat Kool!
I even got a chance to take it for a quick putt, boy what a riot! Here are a couple videos, she fires right up and once you get the hang of it, is pretty damn easy to drive. Super solid rig.

Ryan, thanks for posting the video you know I'm old, decrepit and not very tech savvy. Hope you had fun giving it a putt. I promise I'll let ya drive it longer next time. Watching you go down the road and back I was saying to myself DAMN that thing looks fnnnnnn kool!!!!

Love your build. Next a 3 into 2 header system replace the current single. And, a fold out peg ( motorcycle style ) on left side to ease entry. Explain: 3 cylinder into 1 pipe, 2 to the rear. Love the build

Nope that’s the way the exhaust is going to stay. I don’t need a motorcycle peg to get in I have a step on the rear shock mount.
