This car has been discussed on here before. So Fine. Scan0091.jpg It was originally built by Bob Johnson from Iowa. It won the first Merc Duce Reunion in Kansas City. Sold to someone in Ohio. Met his son at the Custom Car Revival this past summer. He had the Studebaker with a Carson like top. Then it was sold to someone in Kentucky. Had a fender bender and was repainted.

Man... If I had all the money and time and talent in the world, I'd build me one of these. Mr. Rice did GOOD!

I really like this DeSoto, especially the way they extended the skirts onto the door. Any more photos of it?

Bob Johnson also owned the '40 Merc seen here with his "So Fine" Fifty.

I posted this once quite some time ago. I can't get enough of it. I found where it lives and tried trading my 34 or out and out buying it some time ago also. Not for sale. If I owned it I'd move my bed into my garage and live there full time.:cool::rolleyes: 40-1.jpg 40-7.jpg 40-2.jpg

Can you imagine seeing these two cars sitting next to each other when you are 10 years old. It leaves a mark on you that you just can`t shake off. I knew Bob. These two cars are on my top 20 favorite customs. Larry`s Purcell`s 41 in the background is on the list as well.

Much better version before it was sold and repainted. Maybe someone has a better picture. I took this in 82. Scan0601.jpg

Kool ...thanks Mo...I like that purple , blue what ever it is I like it ..but I do prefer the hardtop over the later version..
I used to get these two cars mixed up, thinking they were the same car just different modifications through the years..the Huffman car I thought looked better before the t-tops...just my opinion.
Well I will see what else I can dig up..literally, I had a magazine incident the other night...while doing some reorganizing and transferring about 8 stacks waiste high of loose magazines, mostly Rod Action, Rod&Custom, Street Rodder 78 through mid 80's, tipped over like domino's and shot across the room...crap..so as I'm picking them up I got to flip threw them..finding alot of them with there covers ripped off...Again Thanks 15798243139205400339430035028090.jpeg
