Been looking online for something similar so that I can identify this tool. I’m thinking it’s a knife sharpener. It’s spring steel wire with 2 stones. E6CDFFAC-70F3-4078-B9AF-91632A69868F.jpeg

You wear that on your nose after the dog gets skunked or some strange form of birth control.

Hi.. As the grip is designed to hold them together with tension and not to squeeze and open them then some kind of sharpening hone makes some sense. Perhaps knife or sizzors? jimmie

  4. You would think that if it was a knife sharpener, there would be wear marks...

Depending on how big it is. Some brake lathes come with something similar for turning brake rotors.

You mount the disc, set up the cut then it clips on the disc right above the cutters and just rides there as it turns.

It's to keep the noise chatter down.

That's what it reminds me of.

I've seen that thing on a brake lathe, but the stones were flat, not rounded.

    google

    marble razor sharpener

and you'll find something close, but different.
