    Hello All

Can any of you lead me in the direction of a kit or parts drawing to turn my F1 front end into full tilt.

    look at the gasser builds

  3. I built mine using garage door rollers I built a frame work to stiffen the grille structure bolted the to the fenders I use a trunk latch to lock it in place. It is a one man job to open or close it. I will get some pics tomorrow . The only thing I had to buy were the rollers $9.00 each.

With help from the H.A.M.B.'S I'm going to see if I can modify the hood to open more and the front clip to tilt forward

  7. I haven't got my tilt front end done yet so you don't want ask me.
What I have bought are heavy duty drawer slides from Princess Auto
(Northern Tool/Harbor Freight?) to pull the front end out
so the Willys fenders clear the body when tilted up.
This may be a consideration in your case.

Thats what I always thought about doing too. Then you don't have to cut the fenders.

Not a truck but I just bolted my front end together. I built a frame for the inside and on the front.

Mine also lifts up and then out so I didn't have to cut everything up. I don't have the rollers on the back done yet.

    No worries Hilo
I can see where your skill set took you!

I also thought I might need a roller configuration to pull this off

Once again this H.A.M.B. Family is just what a guy needs when taking on a big kid "Hot Wheels" project

Midnight340 on here has an F-1 with a tilt front. He doesn't look in or post very often, but he was on here about 6 weeks ago. Maybe he would take some pix of his for you.

  17. You can cut the fender where it runs along the cowl, bolt the cut section to the cowl with a strip of aluminum on it for the tilt front to ride on when closing.
My buddy has done this on a couple of his Willys and I cut my 41 Chevy the same, just haven't finished it up yet.

the truck 30.jpg DSCF0002.JPG I have a fiberglass front end on my F1. Bought it 15 years ago from Falcon fiberglass. They are really big and are still in business. Installation was fairly straight forward and results was great..

I cut the bottom quarters and bolted them in place so that when the nose is open there is more room to get under it..
