History Bugsy Romaniello photo collection

Last year Bugsy Romaniello sent an email needing my address to send me some Mercury pictures. I remember only talking to him once at the Merc Deuce Reunion in Davenport Iowa. He wanted me to share them with ya guys, he has had some kool cars. I scanned over three hundred pictures of cars that he has owned and some he just took pictures. Instead of adding them to my two other threads that I usually post pictures, I thought Bugsy needed his own thread. He is one of the many that look in on the HAMB but doesn't post. So I hope you enjoy his pics.....

I'll start with the worst picture that Bugsy took. Lol! I was shocked that he took a picture of my Merc back in 1999 while I was at the Merc Reunion. I just got it back on the road after being rear ended and the back quarters and part of the front end was in primer. But I made it, I was there. Enjoy?



Love the profile on this Mercury. Sure wish we had pictures with the hood shut...



Wow! Check out the two tone, looks a lot better than the silver.

This is, well could be my favorite Kustom that Bugsy owned. I would love to own this Coupe. One of these days I'll have a kustoms with a chrome dash.

Check out the Book Custom Cars and Leadsleds by Timothy Remus. It is owned by Jimmy Hendrickson and built by Joe Maneri as stated in the article. There are pictures of it with the hood down. The insert is more of a pinkish-red color. Looks good. Sorry, scanner isn`t working. Called Angel Eyes from New York.

 

Thanks for the reminder. I have that book. I'll have to dig it out and do some reading. This Merc could break up my top twenty list.

Wow these are great! Not sure about the Merc with the molded bumpers and the what are they, El Camino, taillights?!!

Some times we just need a reminder why what seemed like a great idea at the time wasn't such a great idea in the long run and just because a donor car out back behind has a few parts that might fit and they are "free" they may not be the best choice. Everyone who has been around the custom car can remember a number of cars with similar "why the hell did they use that" pieces. Just think of all those poor street rods in the 70's that had 65 Mustang tail lights stuck on them because someone thought it was the hot lick at the time.

 

I don't mind the molded bumpers but the taillights don't do it for me.

 

Another really kool Shoebox that Bugsy owned.

 

All real nice cars but the light green Shoebox with the chrome dash is my Favorite!

 

custom Mercury's should never have the hood open at a car show unless you are just showing someone then shut it after.

 

A buddy of mine here in Ohio built this one, he sold it around 2007 ? Its changed hands a couple more times since he had it, last i had seen was in Florida. It was and still is a nice car.
