Instant stupidity, just add alcohol and show your face on . That’s why the alcohol is free and pushed in the high rent section

I haven't watched the whole thing this weekend, just segments here and there. So far, I haven't seen any custom sell for close to what it cost to build. Which is why you build customs to enjoy, not for profit. (Unless someone is paying you to build it, obviously)

This afternoon there was a 60’s era Ford Bronco that went for $650,000. Granted it was for a charity but get real, it was a Bronco all jacked up big wheels and tires. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

  5. The reality is trucks, 4x4s brought great money. The hot rods and customs, not so much.

A nice diversion is watching the young ladies writing the sale price on the windshield.;)

There was a beautiful 57 Chevy convertible went got 99,000. It had an Art Morrison chassis, had to have had 200,000 in it. Unbelievable loss of money selling that one

  9. Also think about this. How much is a 2 minute commercial worth on Barrett Jackson during prime time?
A loss on a build may be worth something in advertising for a shop.
    Just a thought

  10. YES! She has a great "Rear Bumper" & the camera guy does that "down low" shot every time!

I had never thought about that aspect of it.

We regularly complain about how Barrett-Jackson prices are too high, making everyone think their rides are worth way more than they are and then we turn right around and complain that Barrett-Jackson prices are too low. Poor ol' Barrett-Jackson just can't win with this crowd!

The key is having the capital to buy the dips.

Capital does no good if you don't know when you're really in a dip.

No matter what the consensus is here, it seems everything is still about $10k too high, and more for muscle cars.

I was looking in the wrong auction returns (forgot this is a new year), but I did find this one that paints a rosier picture of the current value for a '36, if it's comparable to the car you posted.
