I like this look 100%. Simple and classy. I've always wondered what this would look like with a candy over it. I just haven't had the opportunity to try yet.

It's a real shame that this completed build got side tracked with those roof stripes. The car was damn near perfect. I understand it's your car and all but those stripes really distract from the great paint your Dad laid down. The gold stripes just make it worse.

I know opinions are like assholes....we all have one.

Love this car (and I am not a Mopar guy) and the effort it took that you documented. One of the best builds here.

Not a Mopar, or custom person, but this is a home run.

Then I guess it's a "real shame" I roped him into helping me put them on it! :D They go unnoticed by most, so it's our little HAMB secret that I ruined the car with them... hahaa

ps - the gold stripes are someone's photoshop work

Just read the whole thread absolutely fabulous! Took me back to my old DeSoto I still think late 50’s mopars make the best Kustoms plus they come with a Hemi! I should have never had sold mine but I missed having a hot rod .

Yep that’s me, the old girl is looking good and is enjoying life in Italy . Mine was rusty when I got it , new floors, inner and outer rockers, rear arches, trunk floor and even the rear roof pillars ! My only regret is that I didn’t chop it, just a couple of inches like the mercury Larry Watson painted . Your car is perfect ( with the chrome reverse wheels lol ) I wouldn’t change a thing [IMG]

After years of lurking, my dad finally decided to join the Hamb. :D His intro thread is in his typical humble understated style. But he is an awesome guy, loves to help others learn and do, and he has this beautiful '64 Cad. ;)

  25. I’d say your dad has good taste in cars.

Chryslerfan55, Considering Gotgas' signature is "Good hands. BAD taste in cars." (I disagree)
and that his dad raised him and did the body/paint on the '57
and I'm guessing he also did the body/paint on the caddy,
I'd say his dad has Great hands and good taste in cars.
Seems that the apple didn't fall far...
