Does anyone have, or know where to find a set of 61 dodge polara model car wheel covers? Or even a 61 Dodge kit that has them, I haven’t had any luck finding one.
If you'll be at the Grand National Roadster Show on Sunday, Jan. 26 be sure to see the model car contest. It's at the southwest corner of building 7 at the Los Angeles Fairplex in Pomona, CA.
I have one of these to rebuild,I think it was the street rod version and need to get some parts to un street rod it.
I got 3 of these (minus engines and wheels) in a $1 bag at a hobby rummage. The roof dimensions are a little weird, but I think the other 2 will be variables in chop-ed-ness.
D., there are two sources for those wheelcovers: the original issue Jo-Han '61 Dodge kit, and the original/early issues of the AMT '49 Ford Coupe kit. The AMT ones are more accurately shaped and probably much easier to find as well. Here's a junker built kit on eBay that has two of them: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-Ford-...382275?hash=item522dc7ba03:g:SAQAAOSw7ypeH3VU Pop off the covers, make a mold from them, and cast the other two in resin. Good luck! (Boy I'm glad this thread is still up, since the Model Car Magazine forum has had more crashes today than one of John Connor's Russian dashcam videos)
Been working on bodywork for my '59 Ranchero, plus some fun stuff... Lake plugs... Tailpipes... and a bed cover. Also working on a '58 Ford "tailldragger" East Coast-style mild custom. Got the stance adjusted, most of the connie kit done, along with a cruiser skirt. Look pretty cool I think!
Here is a 57 Chevy I started on years ago when it was the only 2 door sedan made, was trying to get it on a stock frame but it was too brittle like the body it came off of so its going to be like a ex race car put back on the street. Adding inner fenders and a stock firewall and will have a dual quad Buick nailhead for power, the automatic trans has been cut off and a 4 speed added.
