McCullough supercharged! Doing our best to recreate the original patina black paint on the back half of the car that someone sanded and primed and the grille that came from the classifieds.

My good friend Jerry’s latest build, he’s got a build thread on here and he has knocked it clean outta the park on this one. I was stoked when he asked me to help out with the heavy lifting on the chassis and metal work, this car has turned out amazing!

You know I was looking at that and thinking does that ever look like Jerry's Hotrod...I did a Photoshop of that side profile for inspiration back when You were obviously assisting him with certain details...;)

Jerry's Build is at this link below should anyone be curious...

T fuel tank for sergios roadster, I made some simple mounting strap brackets and added a pick up tube rather than gravity feed, if there’s ever a leak in the system it won’t dump the entire tank. We’ll be adding a rollover vent and sending unit, and a filler tube that extends to the edge of the decklid opening for fill access.

If you wouldn't mind just measuring the centers of the windshield, side window & back window I can compare against my stock 3 wdo that I plan on chopping. Thank you. Bill

I certainly don't want anyone to feel shitty about their own work by looking at this stuff. There was a time in my life a couple decades ago when I was pop riveting galvanized stove pipe to body panels and covering it with a mountain of filler. Everyone starts somewhere and its all about being open to learning new skills and techniques, wanting to do the best work possible, and investing the time to become better. I still learn something every day I'm working on this stuff and there are still many areas I am working on becoming better and more skilled at. Its not about the destination, its about the journey.

Your right man!!! thanks for the kind words, one project at the time!!! I will not stop learning for sure and I do learn a lot (i would say I almost learned everything about hot rods) just by reading the H.A.M.B. :D

No just at the back, I wanted to let the hot air out the back but keep it smooth underneath

No problem, Just wanted to point out what outstanding work you do...by comparison to many of us non-professionals.
Truth be known, I excel at SO MANY other things (beer drinking, farting in public. ignoring the wife etc) that I'm OK with my average rod building skills:D

Well, THAT was some much needed morning inspiration! Thank you for posting this. I especially don't think I realized quite how cleverly built the 170c car was when I saw it at TROG. I knew it was special, just not quite the extent!

This really nails it and everybody needs to hear this or something like it at least once a month I think. This is a challenging hobby/vocation/calling and it can be very easy to fall into a trap of discouragement. I fall into one pretty often myself as I'm sure a lot of us do. Getting discouraged is THE BIGGEST obstacle to building a car I think. When there's no will, there's no way.

Also, I totally thought this was a bomber seat for a split second when I scrolled down. Judging by that dunks cup, there's certainly enough material there for one! XD
