Old guy, been into Tri 5’s since the 60’s, a couple trophy’s around some where from a ‘56 Belair drag car. Long dead spot from life and family. Stumbled on a 57 Chevy pu basket case another guy had started, torn down, frame up, saved the 235, added a T5 and C4 suspension all around (not hamb friendly) nearing paint. Hope to learn from the best.
Welcome! Just in case you haven't been told previously.... We like pictures! Might be due to our eye sight isn't what it used to be and pictures are easy reading. I've build 2 '56 Chevy pickups. By the way, I've sold both of my trucks... wishing I hadn't...
Well sounds fun, the suspension won't show just don't tout it here and you'll be fine. Well maybe not, you did loose the charm of the old truck but maybe you won't know. LOL If it were mine I would think that the C4 suspension and the 235 is kind of an odd marriage. But I guess engines are easy to change.
Sounds interesting. I'd agree that I would never mention the suspension or show a photo of it on here. Call it "updated" and leave it at that. It's like when you were off in the service or at school and you made sure that no one took a photo of you with something in your hand that your folks might find offensive. Plus remember that the Wheels and the what nots have to be Hamb friendly too.
I enjoy the hell out of my '58. Task Force Chevy's are a great platform to work with due to parts availability and relative simplicity. Plus, they're so darn good lookin'
I have an Art Morrison chassis with a 308 Hudson/R10 overdrive mounted in it....lol. Got the frame 3rd hand and cheap.
Well the 308 Hudson actually could get out of its own way. You know that I am a chebby guy but I got to say the 235 unlike the Hudson and a myriad of other inline 6s cannot get out of its own way. I also got to say that a 308 in an Art Morrison is a pretty rare duck. I like it.
