The Frontenac was a one year only 1960 Canadian car. It came with dog dish hubcaps with a maple leaf in the center.

I don’t believe so. That was Dave Pintas car he was outta Illinois. Mr. B was out of Iowa. Both cars are bad ass tho. I met a guy who owned Dave’s Damn Yankee at the meltdown drags a couple years ago. He had a hell of a story to tell about Dave and how he got the Ranchero and so on.

For you trivia guys, the Frontenac was sold by the Mercury dealers. 9,536 were produced in comparison to the 17,152 Canadian Falcons. In 1961, they had Comets, so no more Frontenac.

well said! I like true Gasser style falcons even though Im a Chevy guy and some of these the real deal , not too tall , radius wheel openings , without poser moon tanks hanging out front , tight and badass attitude. The rest have caved in to to the street freak trend that started around ‘67 and thankfully was extinguished by the CHP with harassment for no mudflaps and headlights way too high here in So. Calif. by ‘72.
Street freaks are not gassers. And any axle car thats jacked to the moon does not qualify either. The term Gasser implies Race worthy and was a NHRA class set at 24”crankshaft centerline! Any higher boarders on freak.
I will admit that in the late ‘60’s when I was young i too loved the Street freaks but we never saw them at the drags. It was just a trend on the street scene and they had no title other than street freak. Nobody called them Gassers back then!
Now I have no doubt pissed off quite a few folks but its just a fact.

I did not know of that law . In Calif . We had no such law . It was really the big tires that hit the scene was really what created the extra tall stance because like you mentioned not all had the ability to do a proper radius so we just jacked up the whole car to clear the tires. It was cool back in the day but in the late ‘90’s my buddies and I helped revived the Gasser for the street we leaned towards the true drag race stance gasser stance.
Hot Rod magazine coined the name street freak around ‘67 but it was the big ass 12” wide meats that caused the look.

The Jackpot car was a real gasser car in the day. It still has some cool stuff on it. Guy that owns is cool too.

With a taller front coil spring to get your alignment back, otherwise you have around 8 degrees positive camber that you would never be able to adjust out. Was a stock eliminator trick also. To get a more front suspension "droop" for weight transfer.
