Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by spillaneswillys, Jan 11, 2020.

  1. I have tried a number of things to get these clips tight but need some tips. I have used screwdrivers awls pricks and picks! Looking for tricks tips suggestions. I believe these are used for a lot of applications .. They have three tabs in the back that are made to bend over the lip ofthedoor. My experience with similar clips is the clip is crimped to the fuzzy and then assembly snaps into the hole in the door.

  4. Just did a complete glass job on a 51 studebaker that used those clips. Hold the sweep on top of the door and mark the center of each hole that's in the door on the sweep. Then put the clip on the sweep on center and squeeze them with some wide pliers, like linesman pliers. Then snap the sweep into place

So where do you go to find these clips?

  6. They came with the kit that i installed. But you might get them from an upholstery shop? Or try Miami rubber

If the clip is loose in the hole in the door, then you need a smaller hole, or a bigger clip, or learn to live with it being loose.

Lloyd's paint & glass and 62SY4 like this.
  9. If you can get in there to drill a hole, put em on with blind rivets

  10. I was under the impression that you had to bend the clips over in the back?

  11. No they just clip in. Friction. If they're too small they may be the wrong clips i reckon.
