  12. I made this panel as a joint Christmas present I did the bead rolling and a good friend did the air brushing. We had the honor of presenting it to Ramrod 36! 59CE4E28-21D1-46AB-A462-417E0F5A586E.jpeg EF3758CE-B5B0-48C8-95A6-D25A2D87BEA0.jpeg

    I'm diggin all the variety.

Here's a toon based on an idea that I got from a HAMB forum thread quite a while back and it stuck in my head. Someone mentioned "What if the Roswell Rod had a crash in Roswell"?

1940 Willys Split Grille VS 1941 Single Grille
    Hello,

In 1958-60 we saw plenty of fast gas coupes and sedans running at Lions Dragstrip. Most of our collection of drag racing films comes from that era. We were there almost weekly from late 1957 to the END, in August 1960. But, during those times, we saw a bunch of 1941 Willys coupes with the single grille.

The Pittman-Edwards 1941 Willys was a record holder and always seemed unbeatable in class racing at Lions. But, there were other 1941 Willys coupes and sedans in So Cal, all running a single grille.

So, with the popularity of the 1941 single grille Willys Coupe of KS Pittman leading the charge, it seems like there are more 41 coupes and sedans than the 1940 dual grille versions.

In our old Long Beach neighborhood, there were two, 1940 Willys coupes that were “yard finds” within a year apart. My brother and I purchased one and a year later, Atts Ono purchased the start of his immaculate build of a 1940 coupe.

My brother and I were fortunate to be able to find a twin grille 1940 model so close to our own Long Beach house. The popularity of the original KS Pittman 41 Willys Coupe was the beginning of the long line of single grille models. (Including 1/25 scale models, life size fiberglass front ends and bodies)

Some creative model kit makers have changed the single grille model into the split grille model. There are even several companies that make resin cast, body kits that are very expensive and come with a split grille. You get what you pay for in ideas and builds.
