If my memory is correct, this is what your trim plate decodes to. Body - 2-dr Hardtop Fastback, Color - Raven Black, Trim - Red, Date - April 24, DSO - Los Angeles, Axle - 3.00:1, Trans - Cruise-O-Matic. EDIT - it looks like mgtstumpy beat me to it but at least our decoding matches!
Awesome. The date was the thing throwing me off but y’all have cleared that up. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was always under the impression that 63.5 meant that they were built after June 1st, is that not true???
I have no idea. He has the original owners manual with the original owners name in it and that warranty tag number is written in there. It was bought new from Bill Kellas Ford in Pasadena, CA. Car came with a lot of good documentation.

I wasn't questioning the original style of the rivet, I've restored a few fords and the rivets are easily obtainable, but evidently I am not as good of a detailer as I thought I was.
It was a mid year addition. I remember it was a big deal when they hit the showroom floor but think it was actually just after the first of the year. I remember that a couple of my buddies and I stopped by the local Ford dealership after school to check the first one they had out. I think it was sold before it ever got to the dealership as they had it ready for delivery when we stopped by. I'm thinking that the buddy who knew it was there is still a Ford guy. The notch back roof caused air flow issues on Nascar cars and that was one reason for the new roof style.
Here are a few pictures of the car. When he first bought it, it was lowered. We raised it back up and put all new ball joints and bushings. The interior is original and in great condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I couldn’t find a 1:18 model in black so I bought this red one and sand blasted it and painted it. Changed out the wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
