Yes, all of the rods had threads at the end ,this would allow adjustment of the threaded button that would mate
with the shifter lever. Doing this it would insure that the neutral gate was correct. All of the threaded rods were heat treated. The arms shown on the 3 speed trans would wrap around the shaft on trans, and were clamped with a nut / bolt. Checking this arrangement, often was needed. As you can see it is not a Muncie, or T-10 4 spd. I worked at Hurst, 1967-1976.

Dave and I share the same hometown, Santa Paula, and in addition to this roadster he had a few custom cars including a deep red metal flake 58 T-Bird. First metal flake I had ever seen. Now I may be wrong and often am but, Didn't this roadster win A.M.B.R.?

1962, the islanders are accepting both the NHRA Long Distance and Best Appearing Crew trophies immediately following the second annual Winternationals.

Who needs a trophy queen with lovelies Teddy Leong, Roland’s mother and first sponsor, and Barbara Parks on the scene? Roland identifies the guys as (from left) Ronnie Saiki, unknown Danny Ongais (making his first trip to the mainland), himself, Donald Nakano, NHRA president and Petersen editorial director Wally Parks, driver Tom Nelson (who was beaten at Pomona by brother Jim), and Pat Moniz.

Roland notes that all of his team members except Nelson were Hawaiians, flown over for a brief SoCal tour.

Also If you ordered a 3-speed stick shift 2 barrel V8 you got the 265 engine only. All 4 barrel stick shifts or automatics got the 283.
