Don’t want to derail this thread , but I gotta ask, how did you fit roller rockers under those regular valve covers? Thick gaskets or spacers?
REAL early ford guys like the sbc because it fits right where the Flathead was and will bolt in without molesting the car , traditional guys usally like engine formation that are pre 1960 so technically I’m a traditional brain washed bozo... thank you very much .. even Shelby wanted a sbc instead of the sbf
289 crank AND RODS??!...in a 5.0 roller motor Musta used a custom short piston....or Boss 302 pistons?! Sounds interesting 6sally6
Terry, I have the Snow White pump kit with a 3” cut firewall ,mechanical fan and a front sump oil pan . Fan bolts are 3 1/4” from the radiator. With the bronco oil pan it might fit but it would be tight without the fan .
So how far is the fan from the rad? I see you have an aftermarket front crossmember, did you push the rad forward?
OOOPs!! I "mis-spuke" (past tense for mis-spoke) I thought you ran a 302 crank with 289 rods............Boss 302 set-up. You clearly said 289 CRANK and rods!! I guess it was late or I'm just slow. 6sally6
I have a 302 in my '34 cabiolet and just put a 302 in my '34 2-dr sedan. Both fit without cutting anything. I used the Snow-White kit and it was simple. The radiator is about 3/4 from the fan. I don't now if Snow White is still in business. I tried calling them for an extra lower pulley and they never answered the phone, or answered e-mails.
58ducknut, What are you using for a fan blade? Also, it looks like you're not using a spacer. Is that right?
Stock radiator location, fan is an after market from Summit and it’s 2 5/8” from the radiator. Motors runs cool with a 180 thermostat and Walker radiator. No complaints whatsoever with it . No spacer
Brinkman.....What fan are you using. 3/4" is close, but if I don't have to cut the firewall that would be great. 58 ducknut.... you used the Snow white kit and still cut the firewall 3"...played it very safe.
