To be honest I dont remember how much the frame is extended. Just the length of the speedway brackets we used to mount the spring. The spring is a combination of 37 and 40 rear leaves.

  5. ''If ''the axle is in the original position it will be extended the amount from the center of the spring to center of the axle, or i may have missed something.;) JW

Im not so sure about those 17 and 19 inchers. Might be too big for a tiny 29 model A roadster. Its all about proportions. It will be interresting to see in the spring. Please post pictures.

That is correct. If i remember correctly we set the ladder bars up, before we cut the frame up, to hold the rear end still. Then we tacked the spring brackets and mounted the spring and just put the new back half of the frame where it needed to be. With a lot of measuring and math in between obviously.

Yep....all about proportions. One size does not fit all. Worked good at El Mirage, but maybe not on the street.

I built it a piece at a time. Here is the chassis. I put a used Brookville body on it. Built like a kid would with no money. Homemade intake manifold.

Thanks for the pic. Found a couple online, but didn't realize it was 1:25. I like a little larger scale.
I've got one of the 1:18 "Highway 61 Origins Of Speed" steel bodied A's.
(the black one with red interior, red wires, and a flathead V8)
While searching for the Mod Rod, I found other variants of the one I have.
Washington Blue, cream/yellow wires, brown interior, and a hopped-up banger!
Never knew they made one like that.
Early birthday present, for myself, on the way. Yay!

I just came across this thread! Very very motivating! I can’t wait to go back to the beginning and look through all the cars. I still have a ways to go! [IMG][IMG]

I like the seat back height. Is that a stock seat? Mine is out of a mini van.

  28. Can't remember if it was the 28/29s or 30/31s that started at the firewall. I think it was 30/31.
