Low but I do think license plate placement would make a difference

Not nearly as visually effective as originally intended. Maybe even a little confusing. Like... point point point look at this cool license plate... point point point...

    Imitation is Traditional...;)

    Your Hotrods lookin' good...neat tailights

    I'm choosing the higher position...

    Plate placement is another issue...

On the yellow one the bottom of the plate is on the bead but room for a period light and the plate is minimal and you pretty much have no choice. To bad we need that darn light, then the plate could be postioned in the panel area away from the bead.

Stogy's whining aside both Bass and the Yeller One are very similar to what you have done...the suggestion to move them outboard a bit is a good one as well...

Yeah I'm picky...but it helps to debate and reason...

If you include the bottom structure below with the panel and look at it as one it helps with the view of balance.

I agree they could be a little further apart. It’s all in the details, so I appreciate the suggestions ;):)

  10. I was able to mount mina a little more outboard. I have the conversion panel for rumble seat to trunk lid. This gave a bit more room back there. I centered them in the tail pan top to bottom. I also centered the tag on the tail pan rail. Coupled with the trunk latch, I think the lay-out looks good. But there are many ways to do this. DSC_0368.JPG DSC_0767.JPG

Nice Hotrod and an Awesome Pic

Despite my discussing a centered plate in the vertical plane the dropped below even works for me...which does highlight freedom of expression and that makes for the beauty of it all...I'm thinking looking at that and getting a little lost in time despite some inspired vintage...

Happy New Year that must have been memorable...;)

  12. For the tag mount I just made a bracket that uses the spare tire stud bosses and built from there. The remaining hole worked pretty good for wiring the tag light too. No new holes drilled for the tag at all.

I agree they should be further apart so I repositioned them, much better.
    Thanks [IMG]

Having the taillight low, makes the car look wider. They both look good, but I prefer low.

The arrows centered looks too easy. And it's centered in a singular panel vs the visual area from the decklid to the rail edge. Final color will help dictate too I'm sure. It looks ok in the center, nothing wrong with that position. But, (you knew that was coming right?) just for the hell of it what if they were tipped up ever so slightly at the points? Rotate around the inner circle of the light and only bring the point to the overall top of the light housing. Might look like hell but now's the time to try everything, right? I'm talkin slight, maybe 3-4 degrees. Leave the round part centered or tip the points to the center and drop the round a little, like top of the circle centered, maybe? Maybe not...

Thanks, I did rotate them slightly and I felt they looked like some did a sloppy job of laying them out or kind of different just to be different.
Like 39 teardrops angled instead of vertical kind of thing;):)

Looking at this layout I think having the plate mounted up between the tail lights really does look good Dino. If you’re using a current sized plate I would have it centered evenly between the tail lights. They look good spaced out a little further like you did.
