    image.jpg image.jpg Hey Guys.
I am after specific measurements for the rear section of the cab section. I am in the middle of fabricating a cab and the corner sections are sitting too high for the doors. I need verticle measurements as shown in the image at the top. Any help is appreciated.

Luckily I don’t have to worry about that, as no women in her right mind would put up with my eccentricities.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I just remembered someone posted up the same topic a little while back. The measurements are in that post, so I can finally cross check what I have.

Too late right now, in the morning I will take a picture of the back of my cab. Your panels do not show sub rails. Pictures in about 8 hrs. Gary

Hello again: This picture will show the sub rail and how the back panel is cut out on it way to the cab corner. Gary 21 3/4" from the top of the sub rail to the top of the back of the cab.

These are very useful, as I will be building a floor shortly.

    Hi @Gary in MN
Have been chasing dimensions for 28-29 closed cab pickup body for ages. The image you posted is the only one I have been able to find for 28-29 anywhere on the net. In this thread you posted a better picture of the rpu side view (post #4). I would be eternally grateful if you could do the same with the closed cab pickup side view and rear view. This would make it much easier to read the dimensions and also provide a good image to save.
    Thanks in advance.
    Happy New Year.
    Steve

Sorry Steve, I was replying to the original request by chev34ute who started this thread for a RPU.
I will take a look and see what I may have stored on my PC for a CCPU
Do you own a pickup subframe???

Steve, this subframe diagram is for a closed car, but could be a help as measurements from the front are all the same to the cross member with the numbers 15 and 18 showing.

Thanks Russ. It is the external body dimensions I need to fab a repro body. The pictures from the book posted by Gary in MN (bottom images on the page) will give me most of what I need.

Great, I will keep an eye out for this info if I see it...
Start your own thread so we can see it and maybe you will get more interest and contributions.

Buddy has some '28-'29 closed cab pick up cabs, subfloors and a few other parts... about 30 miles way, will take measurements if we don't get any more snow... shed is out in a field... DSCN4680.JPG DSCN4678.JPG DSCN4679.JPG

Thanks Gary. You have just got my New Year off to an unbeleivable start. :D
This has been very hard to find for the 28-29 bodies. All the info I could get was for 30-31.
Hope your 2020 brings good things for you and your loved ones.

    Hi sloppy jalopies.
I wish your buddy was my buddy too. That shed is full of the kind of treasure I could use. I greatly appreciate your efforts, but don't put yourself out too much to check measurements. Gary has posted what I need.
    Happy New Year.

Do you still have the back section of a '29 pickup cab? If so, how much? Thank you..

I don't have any '28 parts to speak of...
I can ask him if he want's you to call him about it...
I called him a while back... asked about an A bed... he said go look at it... I did... called him back... he said that he was sorry but he was keeping that for a model a truck...
but, last year when I bought a '30 cab from him, I asked about the '31 cab outside the "pit"...
said he was going to restore it...
so was the bed for a '28 or a '30 pick up ?
I won't bother him unless you really need it … he has been real sick of late...
and you know how it goes, whichever I ask about will be the one he want's to keep...
    let me know...
