What kind of steering column are you guys using. I want to try to keep it as much Ford as possible.

  6. Dave, I've enjoyed seeing your car posted here on the HAMB maybe I'll get to see it in person one day. By the way, check out the Photoshop work that The Moose has done for me to give the car more of a '40s Taildragger look. ( The Photoshop thread to end all Photoshop threads ) mine starts on page 802 - 805. Later, BigO

    Hi

can someone tell me the wheel bolt pattern for a 46 Merc ?
I assume its the same as a Ford ,

    I have checked Google and I get 3 answers , 5 x 4 1/2 , 5 x 5 and 5 x 5 1/2

I would just go measure it but the car is in storage ,

    Thanks for your help ,

  9. Thanks. I liked it when I got it of course but after driving it everyday it just doesn't feel like my car, sadly I had to buy it with all the hard work already done, I've never had to do that beforeI've always built my own cars (started building cars in '75) but this is the direction the road of life took me, anything I'll be doing is easily reversible so that's not to bad, but it'll be spring before much gets done. Thanks again, BigO

If it's original it will be 5x5.5 same as Ford trucks up to when they went to 6 bolt

  13. After 8 months of trying I finally managed to get my 46 running and driving and the first place I went to was the gas station across the road from where I live, Hey I needed fuel !!! Running a 96 Ford 5 Liter V8 with 3 computers on board and using the whole harness out of the 96 Ford. and I know nothing about electrics, only needed help with a few wires that I had hooked up wrong , now I can get the bodywork done without having to push it.
