The engine was built by Shawn O'Connell, of Star Machine, in Emmeryville CA.

He handles all of my engine builds these days.

Snooping around for content to share is how I usually find great Threads like this...again great to see it Back to the Top...thanks for the additional info...I'll bet that would be great fun at the Hillclimb...

Nick do you have a Thread on your Hotrod Pickup?

  7. I do not, I joined here back in 2003 at the advice of some other guys in the Vallejo Swanx car club. They said it would be a good place to learn how to get started on my little truck, but me being me, I just went at it and figured it out on my own. If I would have asked around here first it probably would have only taken 2 years instead of 4 to get to the first incarnation of it on the road. Then it was blown apart in 2010 to get painted and back on the road in 2014 (paint and body work jail is a bastard, had to learn to do how to sand shit myself until I was ready to hand it over to the painter, and he still had to correct all of my booboos.)

  8. Here it is around 2007 at the SF Rod and Custom show at the Cow Palace, I had it wired up and running a few weeks after this show, the lower pic was is obviously it now with the "new" headlamps and shiny paint. I'll see if I can find more pictures to post, I didn't really document the build that well.

NICE JOB! I know Ford made a full steel toped pickup with a wide bed in 1931, looks like you had the visor part to start with, correct? Why did you have to split it in the center?

On the T, the steering has since been revised for correct Ackerman. I added a 2:1 box in the steering column to give the driver more comfort and leverage.

The front tube axle has been replaced by an I-beam, it now has tube shocks, and a dead perch in the rear.

I moved the radiator forward a little, as Sean wants a 4-71.

Great to see this back up... @gimpyshotrods the later additions to the T are obviously well planned and due to shaking things down and @Pocket Nick I really like where you took your Hotrod Pickup...

You fellas make for one helluva Team...your builds are full of incredible design and details...

Nice details on the T, really like the look of the headers. Are the wheels Ford or aftermarket with wider rims? Wouldn't mind finding an intake manifold like that one.

    Pocket Nick made the headers.

I made the rear wheels. They are original centers and late 1990's Chrysler minivan hoops.

    16" x 6.5"

The manifold is a late model Offenhauser.

The workmanship on that car is out f,ing standing!

  23. @The37Kid I went by Sanderson Headers and scooped up some cast offs from their bin and pieced them together. I mirrored them by bolting the flanges together and tacked them all together before TIG welding them all around. The process worked pretty well.

  24. Also, I went back and cleaned up the post since it was full of unnecessary language, reading it all again made me cringe pretty hard.

    Gimpy; Thanks.
I noticed they aren't being used anymore. Preference, or an issue w/the lights?

  26. It was a preference thing, I only initially put them on because that is what the car arrived with and the owner was new to all of this. He started making the car his own after getting seat time with it.

  27. Sadly this pick up had the one piece top and I goofed it pretty bad. Show this to the guy that posted about being afraid of ruining parts. I tried my hand at narrowing the entire roof because of the severe chop, the roof had a little muffin top due to the V shape of a Model A body. Sheet metal is not my friend.
