  2. Thankfully, I understand it's being restored back to its light blue, 1953 AMBR winning look.

The late 20s and early 30s hot rod coupes (Ford, Dodge, Plymouth, and Chevy) have always been very appealing to me, but at 6'1 and 275 lbs, the old fat guy with bad knees would never comfortably fit into any of them.
Some of the late 40s hot rod coupes are very appealing to me as well, and I can get in and out of them. I really like the late 40s through the mid 50s hot rod pickups as well. There are just too many that I really like to pick just one. Gene

  7. I had heard it was getting put back to the original light blue version, but then I heard it was going to be left alone...
I hope it goes back to the original version. I like the original wheel and tire combo better.

    DDDenny,
Mine might be your Deuce Roadster. Can you post a bunch of pictures? I think I have seen most of the car, but only a bit at a time.
Like most of the others, I have quite a few favs, but a '32 highboy has to be in my top 3. Yours has the stuff I love.

I've owned most of the ones on my bucket list, but couldn't keep them all.

Thanks Bruce, this tablet won't transfer photos anymore for some reason but I'll post my thread of the car.

I know my type of car is not to everyones' liking, I guess though, you could say that's true about many of them. Lots of influences came to the surface as I was planning and collecting parts for the build, Lobeck, Kessler, Kyle just to name a few.

    DDD,
Thanx for the link. Yep, that's my style.
If I could plan a trip, I would come and help you finish it up and then take lessons from Marty Strode. Actually, it would be better for me (and your car) of I spent time with Marty first.
When I look at any car, I think of how I would change it if it were mine. Not there with yours yet.
One thing that gets me is when guys say that if it weren't for the wheel and tire combination it would be a perfect car. Hell, if you're that close to a perfect car, buy it and change the wheels.

How could anyone not love a deuce hiboy with double diamonds on the back? Mine are 14x31x15. I ran ribbed fronts but they wore out like erasers. I even put an SCTA sticker in the windshield. Dirt track hiboys forever!

Saw this pic when I was about 10. Always thought it was a Ford Roadster. Now, 40 years later. I`m trying to build a poor mans Duese Scan0654.jpg 2019-08-30_221547.jpg nberg out of a Plymouth coupe.

This is an unfair question as I'll have to confess to being promiscuous. Any 1950s road-racing hot rod would count I suppose. But if you'd twist my arm...

It is the ones I let get away. A '40 Ford Tudor and a '49 Monarch Tudor. They are right at the top of the bucket list but I wasn't set up with enough garage at the time.

This a few years ago. Real Steel, full mid 60's GTO drive train, Heavy metal flake with white tuck n" roll, 51 Pontiac dash. Was up for sale after the owner made a trade with Stoker's Hot Rod Factory for an old custom. Really wanted it but didn't make sense at the time, and didn't pull the trigger. Still think about this one often. Anybody seen it around, not sure where it went? Was from the LA area. Chino Corn Feed March 2014 006.JPG Chino Corn Feed March 2014 007.JPG

Did I say I was promiscuous? Way before Ford v Ferrari there was Stutz v Bentley. Stutz ran in 1928 and 1929 and finished 2nd and 5th respectively which was to me much more of an achievement than Ford's because Stutz had NOTHING like Ford's budget (translated into 1920s terms) and was really a small operation. That's the supercharged 29 car. No it's not strictly a hot rod but...
