I was talking with a couple of friends about early Vettes and have been researching on the interweb about the differences and similarities between 1953 to 1962 Corvette frames. It looks like the only differences have been suspension upgrades through these years. Does anyone have first hand experience with putting an early body on a later (up to 1962) frame? Basically does the body from any of these years bolt right on to the frame from any of these years? First hand knowledge is always best. Thanks!
Minor differences between 53-62 frames. 53 54 do not have frame dimple for the fuel pump. all others will interchange. 59 - 62 have frame mounted traction bars. They can be added or subtracted as needed. Dave
Very similar. The spindles were different. The steering arms may have been different and the corvette crossmember had extra holes drilled in it for the front bumperette brackets. Dave
