    Hi,

Sorry for asking a stupid question perhaps, but I’m getting more or less desperate here.

Does anyone know if there are any retailers of the 4.5” wide Cragar S/S wheels these days? Seems as if they’re out of production for some weird reason, but I thought maybe some company have them shelved?

    Thanks

I am thinking these wheels must be DOT approved. I had a pair back in the 70’s that were stamped on the inside of the outer rim “Not for Highway Use”. I never had an issue but I did not have them on a heavy car or tried to do autocross with them. (That is them on the front of my Cyclone in my avatar photo)

  9. Probably get a back ordered notification if you ordered them

I made some this summer. Found a fella on the hamb that sells 4.5" NEW chrome wheel shells, cut the welds out of a pair of wider cragars and pressed them apart. thumbnail (36).jpg thumbnail - 2019-04-23T194648.007.jpg thumbnail - 2019-04-08T225651.145.jpg Set up a dial indicator, one was .015 out and the other .018. tack, check again to be true and weld'm up.

    very cool nice work

  16. The new wheels are flat spoke, at least all of the photos I've seen, so still out of luck for a skinny round spoke Cragar.

I was not aware of that! I guess it makes sense, since all the other S/S wheels that are currently made are flat spoke...

I think that the same guarantee with concrete turning gray, and cracking once it's cured...

    I have one early 15x4 uni-lug. I thought the 15x4.5's were the re-re-released ones??

They are. The original ones I remember were 4" wide, rumors of a 3.5" wide one. I could have swore my dad had a pair of the 3.5" wide ones back in the 70s.
