Didn’t have a lot of choice. Our 56 is Colonial White and Peacock Blue. E0E78F81-EE28-4823-81E6-03EB72127192.jpeg

As I sit here thinking about it, my project ‘57 Chevy Sedan is very likely to change from a black firewall to white.

I like to see them, as someone's already said clinical and clean.

I'm surprised this thread has been going for 5 years and this is the only explanation for white firewalls. I would like to add another. Back in the 40s, 50s and early 60s, if you were racing circle or drag, about the only light available was around the track. If you had to work on your car in the pits after dark, it was generally by flashlight. The best way to maximize that light was by reflecting it off white firewalls, fenders and frames. It started at the track and quickly found it's way to the street just like so many other looks.

I’ve always liked the look, so the ‘58 got a white firewall. Ford HP White with satin clear... 4B997198-7950-4B3E-8CC6-D0DDF314B6D3.jpeg

I went with "wimbilton white" to give it a little aged look.

  21. Here is my contribution. I used white tractor paint from Tractor Supply, thinned and hardener added and shot in my old Craftsman spray gun. Turned out pretty good.
