  3. That's a fair question but I don't know the answer. I'm just a poser and not the real deal like Joe Mammana. I got ahold of 2 spent shells and epoxied in small, black knobs that fit the girth about right. I sold one for $40 and I have the other one left.
I've got another knob in the works that's an old tin that held blasting caps. No pix yet.

Everyone has a little "poser" in them. Don't worry about it.

Bump. Been looking through this thread for the past hour

A few from my collection. I can’t find my box of others I have stashed away. The first a good friend of mine made me in high school in machine class at the local career center. It’s been in probably 6 different vehicles and currently sits as t case knob. The tiki is one of many I carved about 10-12 years ago. This one sits on a shelf now thanks to bang shifting the hell out of it busting it off the fitting that used to be in it. The glass door knob is from my grandparents old house and am saving it for one day when I get something classy to put it in. The confederate skull was a Christmas present from an old girlfriend and hasn’t been drilled yet. I believe it’s a summit knob

Pretty sure he told me once that he machined it in shop class. He was also able to make a sand casting of an Eelco gas pedal. Man, shop class back in his day was a lot cooler than when I went to school.

Scored this at a garage sale last fall- someone hogged out the hole and epoxied it to a 7/16" stick! No idea where it originated but it's cool! image.jpg image.jpg

A teens or early 20s Dodge Brothers front bearing hub cover, with a 3/8" thread insert and filled with epoxy in my Plymouth coupe (it matches the drive train).
And a modern Hurst Pistol Grip handle installed on the Winters Sidewinder shifter in my 39 Dodge pickup. Gene

I always remembered those metalflake knobs that looked like a Dunkin yo-yo.. But I was 5 in 1962, that's when they were popular I think, along with the black leather pointed shoes, slick back hair and Doo Wap music being played all over the radio. We had Porky Chedwick the Daddio of the Raddio...
