The trans is going to want gl 1 lube. It's got brass and bronze pieces in it that new anti shear hypoid stuff doesn't like. Napa has it in gallons but you will probably need to order it. Some of the newer synthetics are ok but read the label.

Funny you say that, I picked up a gallon of gl1 from napa a few weeks ago. They had six gallons in stock. Just haven't got around to filling yet.

Since my starter engages and turns over the motor it was time to make up some battery to starter cables. I ran the cable inside the frame and came out just in front of the firewall and up to the starter. 56D56EB9-E400-47A3-B29F-5465304C6C10.jpeg In back I came out of the frame to a battery disconnect and then over to the battery. Are those home made cables or store bought?

If they are home made you did a superb job on them.

I built them myself. It wasn't to hard I bought little solder pellets at napa to stick everything together. It was really very easy.

This last weekend I went to my wife’s aunt and uncles farm on the other side of the state to tear down an old barn for the barn wood. Of course I found something to use on the hot rod.
I found this piece on the siding and it covered the main power line coming into the building. It was covered with old red bar paint, I did some sanding and scotch brighting to make it look a bit better. AAFD9870-5472-4A3D-B2D6-EB391967247B.jpeg 8185DEDB-270B-4C39-AFAB-092BC8CAB86C.jpeg

Well I took a few of the before but none after. It wasn't a very good haul everything was pretty rotten. The best score was galvanized tin in a brick pattern that measured 27 x60 I have a use for that.

Not to much to report except I have by fingers crossed that I will have the little shit pot titled in my name by the state of South Dakota. I will know in four to six weeks.
Since I'm a real bone head when it comes to wiring my high school mechanics teacher is going to help me wire and fire the car. It's been 35 years since I was his student so it should be fun to work together. I hope there's not a test when we are finished.:)

  12. I really like the "foot starter" that is so cool. It's the little touches that make a lot of difference in traditional building. BigO

Got my gas tank leak free, primed and painted. I figured since it started out as a farm-all tractor tank I am going to keep it looking like a farm-all tank so I spray bombed it IH red. People that say that sort of thing are not usually interested enough to want education on the subject. They are the type that believe their Prius is the ultimate transportation.

I have a friend that does powder coating so I sent him my nerf bars, pedals and a few others small parts. Had him shoot them in what they call near chrome without the clear top coat. I think they look pretty good not show quality like chrome but that’s my fabrication and it fits the build. F8382A91-9D1D-4754-A166-510B433833F3.jpeg 06BDAC77-DA84-4323-A60C-46D41957DC35.jpeg

Got the front nerf on. It should look pretty good once everything is painted. 2BC1F1E2-DD77-4231-81A9-A94D0DC6F2E2.jpeg
