I've been working on a cheaper alternative to the alumicraft grille with the center bar. I love the look but not the price. And I figured I would show what the finished result looks like. Yep, nice job!
As to my personal taste I would like to see them with the crank hole.
I've often wanted to put a center strip in mine.

I've been kicking the idea around to sell them. I would probably try to sell them for 40 bucks if enough people are interested.

This would work with a crank hole. All you would have to do is remove the original center bar and notch the top of the crank hole bezel and use just one piece on the top. Either way is going to require a couple of tack welds. Here's a couple more pics 1576289936462.jpeg 1576289971369.jpeg 1576290061096.jpeg

    Very nice !
And there are those on here that say you can’t improve on an original grille.
I think you did just that !

KOOL!! Great work! Nice looking! I would take one without crank hole if you should decide to sell them. I'm assuming that it is stainless ? How do you attach it to the insert? Bill

I put 2 tabs on the backside of the bar that are tack welded to the support braces to keep it in place.

  18. I would like one with a crank hole as well, but do not want to weld it on. Some small thin tabs that can be bent around back would be the way to go. JMO

I would think a small dab of Marine Tex two part would hold that in nicely.

I think that you would sell quite a few.
Even to those with finished cars, as it gives a nice finishing touch, (and we all like to tinker with them after they are done).
For me freight may stop it, but I think that you would have plenty of takers in the states.

Sorry, I just don't like the look of the center bar in a 1932 Ford grille at all !! A 1932 Ford grille with the original crank hole is a work of art and looks absolutely great just the way it is. That center bar just cheapens everything up and makes a 1932 grille into something it was never intended to be. To me, it just doesn't look traditional.

When I first made it that's exactly how I attached it but it needs a little something extra to hold it.

That's kinda what I was thinking if someone doesn't have access to a welder or doesn't want to weld it.
