That Puff-n-Stuff altered looks like they raised it substantially from the height it was originally supposed to be,
plus its accelerating which might be increasing the height of the front end. With shorter rear tires and shorter coil-overs in front it looks like the Panhard bar and damper would sit down to a more reasonable angle, also the drag link would center in the cowl opening. Just an observation.

Interesting shot above of the 33/34 coupe.
The body has been moved back on the chassis. Little bit-sort of an altered wheel base altered..!
I'd suppose so the engine is more out in the open.
Wonder if it ever got a nose ? Pontiac or Olds engine..?

looks like an olds. altereds are allowed to move the wheel base around.

  10. The 202 coupe is the Burkholder Brothers first altered. Yes, it had a full hood and '34 radiator shell. It died a horrible death when it ran off the end of the track and got wadded up. Harry Burkholder survived to race another day.

    Gary -
I know, most all was fair game for them... Just making an observation..! Anyway, my comment was about the body vs. the rear axle location, not the wheelbase. Notice the fender mount location vs the tire.

Cool, thanks for that info. Too bad, always hate to hear about those type endings.

After the coupe, they built the tub with its easily recognizable pipe organ injectors:

A Gogomobile (German) sedan. The photo is from Castlereagh Dragway just west of Sydney, Australia. Prior to building this car John Carter ran a shortened Model A bucket and then a radically shortened Morris Minor. IIRC this one was powered by a Windsor Ford.

Jazzy's car looks like it could have been run as a Comp Coupe too. The lengthened frame is interesting.
