Thanks again guy's for the comments, they are appriciated. Now back to our
regular programing. As I mentioned these pics may be out of order, as photo
Bucket deleted whole pages of pics because of their lousy soft ware.

DSC01288.JPG This photo shows the aprons located with two scratch awls , I had drilled
two 1/8" holes for locating them in exact position for alignment with
fenders. Once body is on frame it's very difficult to adjust them.

The scratch awls I use are the best I've found, and are used in most sheet metal shops.

I buy several at a time, and use them like cleeco's.

Some pics showing the start of paint process. Every thing gets epoxy primer as
first coat. I have even used filler over it now, and given up on etching primer.

After metal working I epoxy prime, block sand, use filler if needed, then use a
urathane primer to finish blocking with. The sanding never ends !!

Fender prep on the above pics was at a friends shop, I was running out of room.

I built stands for the fenders to make it easier to work on.

The gas tank had to be reshot, burned thru buffing. Fenders came out nice.

IMG_0836.JPG I did not want rocks causing star chips in the paint. I looked at a lot of options, and
decided on a local shop that lines truck beds for most of the new car dealers. It
cost about the same as a pick up bed. They spray this liner at high temp, and it
sets up in 3 minutes. They imbed wires in to make the cuts. They were great to work
    with and did a great job. IMG_0835.JPG IMG_0840.JPG IMG_0842.JPG IMG_0849.JPG

Beautiful work... the interior panel details are too nice to cover with upholstery!

HotrodHR : Just the seat will be done, with rubber diamond plate pattern floor.

Loudbang: the heaviest fenders around! Thanks
for all the great pics you post!

What's the current color of the interior panels? It looks like a primer that you might seeused in military vehicles or aircraft. The fenders look like a retro grey/green on my iPad... very cool.

I found a bunch of exhaust pics so there going up next. There is very little
room around the rear axle, and with the 32 tank I'll take the easy way out.
they will dump out by the rear wheels. I'm using the heavier 16 gauge
304 stainles. (of course I am) I found a couple flanges on line, and shaped
them to fit. It is 2 1/4" near the manifolds, than I ran the rest in 2 1/2".
I had mocked the position of the exhaust by the tire when I had the fenders on.

The route wasn't to bad only had miter a few fittings. I used the
    popular insulated hangers to help with vibration. DSC01282.JPG DSC01287.JPG DSC01284.JPG DSC01289.JPG DSC01297.JPG

The finished route worked great. The only problem was the neighbors, and
the noise. The glass packs were even too loud for me. I looked at a lot of mufflers
trying to find one that would fit in the small space available. Chose these Magnaflows.
    Great sound! IMG_0478.JPG IMG_0465.JPG IMG_2023.JPG

    HotrodHR :
I first painted them black to match the seat. Too
much black, couldn’t see them. I went ahead,
sanded them all, and shot them body color. Very
happy with them now. I left all window moldings
    Black, along with the dash.

Yes I used stainless Philip head screws I got
from McMaster Carr. I wanted to always have
the option of taking things apart if a problem
    arises in the future.

Running out of time, but determined to finish
Coupe build. Spent another week in hospital
with pneumonia, third year in a row. I’ve had
the shot , but advanced COPD can’t withstand
    any infection.
I have to use my little roll around stool to do any
work. I’m on oxygen 24/7 of course. Have run
Oxygen line to the shop from the concentrator in
The house. No bottles to worry about, but can’t have any sparks!
I have done all work up till now including all prep
work, sanding, primmer, and blocking. Got half way
through the finish top coats, and had a friend finish
since the paint mask restricted my breathing to
much. He had never finish painted before, but I
guided him through it. He’s shot a lot of primer
before, and we put 4 coats on.
I did all the color sanding, and he did all the
buffing. With out his help I couldn’t have
    finished it.
I had always planned on single stage paint as it
is ‘garage’ painter friendly. I think it also reflects
a more traditional look. I looked a long time trying
to find the right color gray. I got a old 60’s color
chip book, and found It there. It’s the old slate gray
found on early Porsche’s. No metallic of course, and
I’ve had a lot of good reactions from it.

WOW just WOW. You are creating a masterpiece without letting your health problems effect your skills. My hat is off to you sir. Working all that metal with your limitations is quite a feat. Nothing in your work provided any clues that you were working under such conditions.
