Seems like I've been on an eternal quest to be in a '28-'29 Ford Roadster Pick Up. The other day I bought my 7th Incarnation of an RPU? Am I obsessed by them or possessed by their shape? It's certainly not their comfort. Is there a certain Auto that's your repeat offender? Seems like every one has been a little better and a learning experience to the next one? Here's a few of mine, and yes these are all different trucks which span a 20 year period of my life. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the first one, but that's ok it was a total pile. The last picture is a pile I've owned twice now. See Classifieds for that one.

Yup, Model A's. Mostly Tudors, RPUs and Roadsters. Nice simple, easy vehicles to work on and a lot of fun to drive! :)

Late 40's, early 50's GM fastbacks ("Torpedos", "Streamliners", etc. whatever they called them). I would prefer a '50 Olds 88, but would even consider a (shudder) Chevrolet.

12+ 40 Ford's-8 tri five Chevys-Still have one of each-on the hunt for another 40 coupe

  9. My first car was a 1932 Ford 5 window coupe, I was 12 years old.

later on in life I became obsessed with model A's, I went through several body styles, then it was 1940 Ford, again several different body styles and then I got bit again by the Deuce bug.

My Mom had a nice but old 32 Ford roadster she loved ,my Sis an I {we were 6 n 10} loved riding in the rumble seat on sunny days in the late 40s.=At 10,I already liked 28 to 32 Fords. At 14,I fell head over heels in love with the looks of 53 to 55 Studebakers hardtop low coupes and tried really hard to buy a used one. Just didn't have enough $ for the Studebaker @ 14,so I started on hunting up free junk Ford model "A" parts to build my first hot rod{still have it ,an it was running by 1959 ready for high school}.
But that Studebaker love never left,an between 66 up tell 8o, I had 5 used studebakers of the body style at def. times,my fav. was the 55 Speedster, wish I still had that one.

  11. I seem to be drawn to any year of Camaro. Having already owning several, but as far as HAMB friendly it would be a 32-34 Ford pickup. My grandfather has probably owned 15 of them since the 60's and I have caught the bug and soft spot for them as well.

  12. I've had 5 different 63 Ford Galaxies (2 dr. Hardtop fastbacks), I still have 3. I've probably had 5 or 6 63 4 doors and a few 64' as well.

    It's a sickness.

    I'd give my left nut for a 55 Two-Ten!
    On second thought...........!

  15. My first car in 76-77 was a 1950 Ford tudor & my latest project is a 1950 Ford coupe.
So I guess I've come full circle.
In My late teens & early twenties I was all about Dodge Darts.

I never thought about it until now, but I've never owned more than 1 of any car, pickup, van or motorcycle in my life, not because I didn't like them, just was always ready to have something different I guess! I sure would love to have a few of them back if that was possible but at this stage in my life that is not likely to happen.

  17. 23 thru 27 Ford tbuckets or track roadsters. Top or no top. Full fender with running boards, motorcycle fenders, no fenders. Hood no hood. T,A,32 or track nose radiator shells. Short or long box, turtle deck or nothing. Long or short wheelbase. 9" or quickchange rear. Dropped tube, Ibeam front axle. V8,6,or 4cyl. engines. Injected, blown, 2,4,6,8 carbs. Lotsa chrome, some chrome, no chrome. Only constant is center steer and auto trans. Since I've built pretty much all of the above over the years, I guess I lean to this style.

Torpedo, Slantbacks, fastbacks however you refer to them have always rung a bell as well as taildraggers. Any well done hot rod with the right stance as well. I'm easy to please. :)

AD Chevy pickups and 60-66 Chevy pickups as far as HAMB friendly versions go. I grew up in both, and always have one waiting in the wings it seems. Right now there are two 54 Chevy trucks behind the barn just itching to get in a bay.

I also am perpetually attracted to late model Corvairs for some reason. I have managed to go cold turkey for five years and have zero Vairs, but the urge has been strong lately. Autocrossing a well set up 66 or so 140 coupe is a religious experience for a Corvair guy.

For me it's Model A's. I have owned 17 of the critters and once had 4 at one time. I also love tri-Five Chevys have owned 7 of those and never have been able to keep one, so I finally just gave up on them.

Over 30 55' Chevy's. Owned Mopar's, Studebakers and other assorted brands.
Looking for the next 55'. It's the only car that still makes my head spin around to look.
Yeah, they are belly button cars but they still have the 'look' to me.

For me it's 63-72 C10s. I finished and traded my 2nd one about a year and a half ago, sold all my extra parts. 18 months later I have two more. One is an everyday driver and the other is a springtime project. Sure, I like them, but I don't understand what the strong attraction is, other than I know them inside out upside down.

Yep.....Orphan makes for me. Especially parts. Knobs and trinkets of the Upscale and oddball makes seem more ornate and interesting to me!

  29. 9 40 Ford cars and pickups, 7 Tri-five Chevy's, 5 Corvettes,..round up my top three, but have had a lot of cars with varied interest.
