Just found this "club" and haven't gone through all the posts, but, really happy about it being here. I am starting my rebuild in the Spring, but I have been amassing a lot of cool stuff to use in the build.

Fixed a rear main seal leak and replaced the wide-ratio 4 speed with a fresh T5. I used some sway bar mounts and it turned out pretty clean without requiring any new cuts. Here's the latest, now I just need to fabricate a new tunnel and hook everything back up. 20200410_095131.jpg 20200410_095035.jpg 20200601_195156.jpg 20200527_194815.jpg .

Allrighty ,question for the club .I need a bench seat ,as mine is shot ,junk ,ka-putt. I have heard of guys using an early 2000 GMC 3rd row seat. I Do have the gas take under the seat (big truck) acting as a seat riser only, but I have a replacement floor panel. The seat is so bad I dont even like driving my truck due to back pain . What did you guys use, year make an model please then I can start my hunt Thanks Mike 20200607_171423.jpg

  16. Little more progress & Pulled it outside to see how it sits. Used 36 car headlight lenses, 36 taillights. Probably gonna spray the wheels ivory thumbnail_IMG_2264.jpg thumbnail_IMG_2263.jpg

When I had a '40 big truck I used the middle seat from a Chrysler mini van. Sold it so no photos. It fit OK but not all that comfortable. When I got the '39 p/u in my avatar I had the stock seat recovered. It was more comfortable than the mini van seat in the '40 but still not exactly what I wanted. That said I finally bit the bullet and bought a Glide Engineering seat frame at the LA Roadster's father's day meet a couple of years ago. I had a local shop supply the foam and do the upholstery. While it was pricey it is very comfortable and I'm happy with the results. IMG_3837.JPG IMG_3842.JPG IMG_3913.JPG

Mines sectioned 6". I used the side spear from a volvo 122/2 door. Had to be spread a bit at the top to mate up with the emblem. Still lookin' for crafty ideas for the grill surround.

  22. I have a 38 Ford Pickup and Im looking for the stock cardboard headliner. Cant find anything for a 38 but they do reproduce for a 40. What would be the difference as i thought the cab was the same size ?

I bought the cardboard one for my '39 p/u from Macs. I fits OK but not perfect. There are other sources for molded liners. this is one but there are others. https://collectorsautosupply.com/

  25. I bought the molded one-piece headliner made by Fairlane Products I think. That was close to 30 years ago. I had to cut it apart to make it fit right, The original was one piece over your head and separate pieces over the tops of the doors. When it was cut apart it fit OK. Didn't like the finish so covered it with dark blue felt material that closely matched the seat.
