Darn, you gave up too soon. A friend of mine here in N. Cal. has been a 4 banger guy his whole live and he's 92 and still works on his projects EVERYDAY. He works mostly in his SHOP, which is his two car garage with carpet on the floor. I've tried to get him to work on a workbench or at least plywood on some sawhorses, but his theory is if you have to get down to the floor and then back up all day, you're going to stay in shape. It works for him so if it ain't broke don't fix it. The good part is he has a 4 banger like no other. All of the machine work has been done by Ray Righetti's machine shop in Stockton,CA. The engine should be on the dyno shortly and they expect 175 HP. This engine has very little left of Henry's engine but if you're interested i can get a print out of what all has been done?
It's going in a '29 or '30 softop pickup and it is being built for hill climbing. Here in Cal there ia an association of ardent A hill climbers and my friend Ed Simpson is hopefully going to show them how to climb a hill, you know, like Pikes Peak!!!
Anyway, i'm enjoying your build and thought you might like to see what some people are doing with A's even as late as 2019?

As Chris said , I fitted a 37 21 stud into an A frame but used the entire "K" member from a 33/34, 39 pedals, 33/34 wishbone , F1 box with "A" flange ,modded the oil pump stand and dimpled the firewall to enable removal of the passenger side head, recored an "A" rad and had extra inlet and outlet fitted , modded a 8BA fan carrier/cut down 37 fan and fitted a H&C mag all in the stock space

Sorta like a prototype if Ford would have came out with the V-8 in the years of the Model A. So far everything is lining up nicely. This is where the engine is going to be so time to make some factory looking mounts.

I did not give up to soon. I drove this car for 10 years with a 4 banger. I do not have the cash to build a full bearing, full pressure oil, counterbalanced 4. Plain and simple. Spend 5k on the 4 or spend 1/8 that in putting in an 85 horse and get me where the 4 would be. Mind made up.

Front mounts are in. Final welding will be done after the engine comes back out. Time to make the rear trans mount/wishbone mount. I am also going to be running anti chatter rods so those have to be incorporated into the mount as well. EC34C1BD-B2FD-42F4-A79F-E25AD7454D9F.jpeg

I am glad I saved those pics from your build Bob , because now they are just a bloody red X and/or a blur, completely ruins your efforts and spoils the information for future generations........screw photobucket and damn all those who are involved.

That put the stock headlight switch directly over the ‘32 wishbone. Nothing I could do other than modify the bone to go around it.
