Hello Guys, I have an older gentleman friend of mine who has been building traditional hot rods for six decades. Thats right, one of the originals...and he's still doing it while in his 80's. He came across a '32 Coupe with a factory trunk. The trunk has not been been converted from a rumble seat. The Coupe has a roll down rear window, which also is factory. He has never come across such a combination and would love to know the story behind it.

He's not much for computers, so I told him I'd try and get an answer for him. Anyone hear of such a thing, or is it simple a Ford mistake? Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks much!

A friend of mine has a 32 5 window with a trunk and a roll down window, never thought much about it but does seem a little odd. I did a quick search and this was discussed on here in 2009 and several people also had 32 trunk cars with a roll down rear window so maybe o not so unusual.

Might be like the 57 "Baby Birds" with a rumble seat. Only seen one of those before.

The roll down rear window was on all the cars. I had a 5W that was extremely original and it had the roll down window and a trunk. My 3W was also stock with a trunk and had the roll down window.

My 5 window has a trunk and roll down back window.....and....it's fiberglass! I was told it's mostly for ventilation, not talking to rumble seat passengers. 1932 AC.

I have 2 of them. Didn't know this to be anything special. Interested if so.

  9. My 5 window also has a trunk and roll down back window, its for ventilation. If you roll down the back window, open the cowl vent, pop out the windshield and roll down the door windows, its like being in a convertible without getting your head burned by the sun. Really cool rolling down the road...:)

The 3 window body in my avatar has a non rumble trunk and a roll down back glass as well. Also the funky broken original glass in all three windows.

  18. The rear window in our (chopped) Deuce 5wd Coupe rolls up & down ... albeit a shorter distance than a stock ‘32 5wd Coupe
