Interestingly enough, this just popped up in my suggested vids on YT. Incredible driving by Duncan Pittaway in his GN Curtiss. What a race!

Found it without any trouble, nice project. I'm sure it will never see a KRIT logo in Europe. Bob

The rolling chassis is now complete finish. The next job will be to finish the engine and make it ready to install it.

    Hello, Rolf!
Excellent photo-strip about rolling chassis of your own designed and constructed Curtiss/Fraser-Nash.
Nice view to entire chassis, suspension, brakes, transmission - in general, and in details!
All the best for the next stage: testing of running chassis and finally with body attached!

    Regards,
    Zoran

    Amazing job Rolf!
Did you made the complete engine yourself?
Of is that an old engine?
    Thanks.
    Gui.

The Swiss always seem so organized and detailed orientated. I was lucky to visit there a few times and meet a gentlemen (Tony Kollbrunner) who owned a Ford dealership I believe who kept a few classics in the basement. One was a very old 1904-1908 chain driven automobile that he would take out for charity races etc. His brother was a genius of sorts and had developed a heat pump system using a rotary vane compressor made in the UK that our company had purchased.

    Hello, Rolf!
Magnificent work on the magnificent project!
It looks to me that there is more work to be done, the more you are near the end?
Your Curtiss FN will be better made than many originals from the period.

    Ciao,
    Zoran

    Hello Zoran,
I underestimated the amount of work to build up a car like that, and for me it’s a big challenge to solve all this problems.Sometimes I’m waking up at about 2 o’clock in the morning and thinking the life would be easier without this project ,but I still hope to be in a about three month on the road.
    Regards Rolf

Rolf, is that a Malpassi filter/regulator I see on the firewall? Beautiful work on this car. Can't wait to see it completed. Be safe.

Years ago when Ed Roy was restoring the 1914 INDY 500 winning Delage the lap counter was missing. He had original photos to study, and found one at a swap meet in Paris, an exact match! Then he found another, and a bit later another. Turns out they are Billiard counters. Bob

In this Box are two roller bearings which support the shaft who is the connection between the clutch driving Plate an the propeller shaft in axial direction and in the flywheel is an additional simple roller bearing to support the radial force (It isn’t easy to explain that in English)

This is the kind of work I do. Just saying it is a support is enough. The drawing is great. Knowing the internals also answers the question I had about the grease zerk on the top. What material(blue in the illustration) do you use for the adjusting shims?Do you have bearing preload or endplay?
    Thank you

I'd like to know how the bearings get installed, look like cup & cone front wheel type bearings, correct? Bob
