1952 or 53 250-series 1-ton. Cool old truck that deserves saving.

  5. But it would not haul hot rods too well without some serious mods.

Pontiac 4 cylinder according to the owner.

  12. Just lengthen the frame build a bed and it would work. its capable of hauling the weight. My wife has a 66 chev 3/4 ton. She quite often hauled 6500 pounds of feed in the bed. That's more than a lot of cars weigh.

  13. Yes those frames were very stout as well as the springs and axles. It would need something more potent under the hood than old 216 stove bolt with splash lubrication. The gearing, while stout, is too low. It would haul but very slowly as is.

  15. There is a guy from Texas on U tube. Daniel Restodan. He has one of those old 216 engine trucks that he uses for a wrecker. He is mostly a 55 thru 65 chevy car guy.

  16. The rear chunks from the one ton AD trucks can be swapped out for the chunks from the newer one tons and 3/4 tons up until 66. We have a one ton in the hoard it has 538 gears. a set of 390 gears would make it faster.

Went and looked at these to perhaps use to convert a 4 door. We got the doors. Will probably go back and cut the one up for the rest of the parts.

  25. Looks like a 330 truck engine. Dipstick on the side. Large oil sender unit for a electric guage instead of a idiot light. extra pulleys on fan likely for power steering and maybe a air compressor. Fuel pump missing. might not have cooled very well with that kinked bottom water hose?

  26. Nice project. Small wonder that both headlights are still complete with the bugeye lens..

Somewhere in Haifa, Israel. Pic uploaded on an Israeli FB group I'm on. Hope it's not abandoned because if it is where I think it is it won't stay unmolested for long, this is a rough part of town.
