When life change, we must take decisions. I sold my old 1967 Renault Estafette (petit panel) to inject money in the Fregate. The only car I kept, it's my Buggy, with some update, wheels/tires/paint. Buggy-16072019.jpg

About the tires and wheels, the Fregate looks like a Skateboard, here in France, tires is a real problem, if we want the nice us 16' whitewalls diagonal profile tires, you have to sell a kidney!....I found English cab tires, new, no whitewalls, but it's ok for me.
Left the new, right the old.... pneu.jpg

You absolutely right Vedette and KoolKat-57, when it's finished, it will be protected. Has I have always said, this car was built in the street, park in the street, and my fault, abandoned in street.... "Lowrange" was the first version, now, it's time for part 2. I'm still working in the street, under the rain, and soon under the snow, but the next finish version will be park in a box....or under un umbrella;):):D

Don't forget to insure it even if you ever rent/buy/built a garage to finish it. A neighbor nephew decided to put the little money he had in 2 old cars and motorcycle instead of the bank as an investment... The garage burned down to the ground, no insurance I'm in talks to buy the registrations.
How did you get the hubcaps to stay on the wheels, are they stock Renault or something else? When I put the sombreros on mine (15") I had to modify the hubcaps to mount them.

Hello Chrisp, thanks for your advise. About the front wheels, originaly, it was on 400 on my Fregate. That wheels come from a 1943 Willys MB, in 16. Easy to find in France, cheaper, and fit directly on that bold patterns 5x139.7 with the big center hole.

Thanx, that's a nice trick I didn't know about. I did have to hit the option button from the popup that said the page was not translatable and tell it I was trying to translate French to English.

Love it! It's like David Lynch meets David Byrne!

It's cool to see what a multi-talented group of people on the H.A.M.B.

I would post a pic of myself as Frank-N-Furter from a stage production of "The Rocky Horror Show" about a decade ago, but I'm not sure how that would go over!

The car's not terrible for having been untended in the street for two years. Great project the first time around, I'm sure it will be even better this time. Good luck!

Well, it's time to work again on the Fregate, first, just for "the fun", I know that the new engine is not all ready ok to take the road, there is still a lot of work on it, but I wanna ear if "will it star"?.....when I opened the hood, damned, no more battery, someone think that my car was a self service.....my fault, the hood open from the outside....after checking, no over parts missing. Cool. I put a new battery, and try to start, but big fuel leak....hum, let's see what's wrong.... durite.jpg

Well after changing that rotten hose, and quickly checking, the engine is dirty, I'm must clean everything....but for now, I just wanna listen that engine..... moteurcrade.jpg

Will it start with no finish electricity, wiring mess, dead hoses?.....well.....enjoy that link ;-)

The exhaust was never finished, and I have to redo things well (I have lake pipes to install)...It might be good to connect them....why not?)
