Too far gone for the hamb?
    That's pretty bad LOL.

I saw a gutted and abandoned 1940 Chevy coupe out in the field. Ran and took a quick look. Just as I suspected from the road... as I've heard said... there, but not there. The whole body rusted so thin that there was very little if anything worth saving.

I bought the Minnesota Studebaker in my Avatar about 2 1/2 years ago. Here are some pictures of the rust (and there was LOTS more) that necessitated lots of metal replacement. I was forced to learn all kinds of rust repair before I got it the body back to paint status. IMG_0963.JPG IMG_0814.JPG IMG_0852.JPG

the pictures of the Coronet do not show a car that can't be brought back to life.

This is only major rust on my 52 merc pickup sat for 30 plus years and only reason for this was one bullet hole directly above 20191101_132857.jpeg

  11. Yes, it was parted out. Lots of usable parts went to other rodders.

I cut all the rust out of my 57 Ranchero and this is all I had left. 100_4282.jpg

  13. What will make the guy with the Coronet in the first post really sick is .. in 2012 I went through the Pull-A-Part in Columbia SC and there was one just like that, a bare shell, with not a bit of rust to be seen. I was amazed no one had stripped the doors and fenders and stuff off it.

I didn't have the room, but I picked a factory AM-FM-tape-CB out of a 1980 Riviera and made myself like $150 when I got home putting it on the auction site. It helped that somebody was trying to get like $1300 for an NOS one. I probably could have bought the whole Riviera for less than that before it went into the yard.

I did sell two different 57-59 Mopar ragtops which went overseas which the only thing really keeping them from breaking in half was that the doors were closed.

  14. My buddy, Jeff found these 2, 32 ford coupes out in a field and had enough parts to make up this body and left overs. Now it's got black paint. jeffs32infield.jpg jeffs32lr.jpg

I’ve hauled a few picked over Plymouth Dusters to the local scrapper that were rust free but I couldn’t GIVE away on the local Craigslist.

I put the videos of them being smashed flat or getting thrown by the big ass claw on YouTube and then got all kinds of insults and death threats from rust belt Mopar fanatics. :D

  19. Probably pretty pitted and can't tell how thin the metal is, but it looks to me like you could bring it back .

Was able to salvage the dash and some garnish mouldings out of this pile about 10 years back. Pieces of the garnish mouldings got used on a chopped car, the dash will eventually end up in a 28 roadster that also started as a pile of garbage. p11020967.jpeg p11021255_zps4af3b0b9.jpeg modelApatch005_zps078e8392.jpeg

  21. This 55 2 dr gave a lot of parts for other 55's. It still has a good roof and window regulator. The black 55 more door has already had the conversion to a two door started. Might still be viable? It has the Vin and Cowl tag and a title. Its a roller too! I rusty 55 &56 023.JPG rusty 55 &56 020.JPG rusty 55 &56 018.JPG rusty 55 &56 019.JPG ve attempted to collect every 55 and 56 that can be bought in the region. They are simply all gone.

  22. 55 two door has cowl tag and vin. I need to set it on that Hollywood frame of the rusty 4 door pictured in a earlier post in this rusty 55 &56 008.JPG rusty 55 &56 009.JPG rusty 55 &56 010.JPG thread. Bought it for $100.

  23. 55 more door wasn't that bad of a vehicle. I used parts from it to fix the 55 wagon in my avatar. also still has a cowl tag and vin. rusted out floor pans and some rocker rot. paid $130 had a really nice front cap. and used it & the pedals rusty 55 &56 017.JPG rusty 55 &56 021.JPG & linkage in my wagon.

  24. WTF, who would do such a thing?
I'm Ford thru & thru but that brings a tear to the eye.:(

  25. orange 56 two door. Was a old drag car from the 60,s. Was gave to me by a deceased friends mother.. I just got the roof, rusty 55 &56 014.JPG rusty 55 &56 016.JPG rusty 55 &56 015.JPG doors and rear half. I set it on the frame from a 55 two door and used the 55 cowl. still has the vin. there is a battery tray in the trunk. the doors are gutted and the inner structure cut out.

Apparently it was bought in the eighties in bad shape and parked in that spot. Until ‘14 or ‘15 when I first saw it it had a cover on it that looked like a pool liner or something similar , my buddy inherited his Dads estate and that was part of it along with an unbelievable hoard of rare and valuable hot rod cars and parts, look up “Koepke autction vanderbrink” you might have to play with the wording a little.

  27. 56 two door still has the vin and the cast iron powerglide. Had to pay $200 for it. been in a fire. the owners mother piled trash around it and burned it. LOL. I sold the automatic collum parts and speedometer assembly for $100. sold the spindles for $75 so it ended up being pretty cheap. one of the doors is viable . the other will need a new skin. has the 40 pounds lighter Hollywood frame but the part that holds the A arms is ripped out. would need to become a straight axle. rusty 55 &56 011.JPG rusty 55 &56 012.JPG rusty 55 &56 013.JPG
