I'm considering the Tanks brand U2 or U3 steel tank to be installed in the rumble/trunk of 30/31 coupe. Photos of installation and any pointers would be appreciated. Of special interest is how you bolted it to the floor.

I never considered the trunk floor suitable for mounting the fuel tank in my '29 roadster. Too much weight. The only thing in the area that could would be the rear body sills. I have a rumble seat trunk and lid and did not want to chop up anything in the process of mounting the tank. I made a frame that bolts to the sills and three saddles to support the tank. The assemble needs to be able to be taken apart to install into the trunk to get around the wheel wells and braces etc. I don't have a picture installed in the trunk, but here are a few bench pictures as it was going together so you can get the idea.

Wow! What skills. I think I will make a tray that mounts to the sills. I have been looking for a tank that will let me mount both the tank and the battery, in a box, in that tray.

Nice set up. Can you post some pictures of it installed?
