I wanted to post these separately to highlight the quality of paint and the license plate which is original to this car. 20191115_173114.jpg 20191115_173122.jpg

Saturday the wife and I headed to South Bend IN. I think the gps was set to back roads. I swear I must have seen half a dozen old cars tucked away either next to old buildings, in front yards under tarps, or poking out from an old tarp in a rickety old garage. I wish I was able to take pics, but doing so would have been to much work to do it safely, or if I stopped our trip would have doubled in time

Is this the perfect '55 cruiser? Not quite...Cragar S/S and blackwall tires might make it so.

Here's a 53 Plymouth Concord Fastback that my uncle traded for. I thought it would be a lot bigger than it actually is. It's a cool ride for sure. 20191118_120835.jpg

I'm a hot rod sort and don't really care for customs, but that thing would make a killer custom, mild or radical.

I agree. It would make a killer custom. It's actually not a huge car either. It just looks big on pictures. All the interior has been redone and it has a sbc 350 with OD tranny.

Looks like a great trade. Did the coon tail on the antenna come with it? I had a stock 53 Plymouth 4 door, OD trans in about 1959 or so. Good solid car. Yours ought to be a great ride.

Yes the coon tail did come with it. It needs some brake work but overall it's a nice car. He traded a 70 impala lowrider show car for it.

check out the front shock. Not traditional, but probably effective. LCF-2019-1123 (1).jpg LCF-2019-1123 (2).jpg LCF-2019-1123 (3).jpg

    Hello,

After going to my first Black Friday sale with my wife, it was the biggest disappointment in recent times. There were some people browsing around the warehouse displays. The shop was a very popular women’s boutique shop in the local beach town. Their sales are known to be pretty good. We were looking forward to seeing what was available in the warehouse.

Last week, our 14 year old granddaughter was with us shopping at the retail store and she found this outstanding sweater. So, she walked out dressed as a typical So Cal teen with an baggy knit sweater and skinny jeans. She loves going shopping with the her laid back, grand parents. Lunch, shopping and sleepovers since she was 6 months old. We told her about the warehouse sale and she just happened to be out of town on the black Friday sale.

All was not lost. While driving up to the warehouse, we spotted a cool finned hot rod sticking out of an open garage. My wife said it was a 57 Chevy and she was right. A black 57 Bel Air sitting in the opening to the garage of a machine shop. So, the black Friday sale was a flop, but the surrounding area provided a nice respite from the standard vehicles we see every day. Just down a few rolling doors was an old, lowered truck, also sticking out, half way in another, opening garage door.
