I like most all of them. One of my favorite features was the little red bow tie hi-beam indicator on my 60 Chevy.

I was three when the old man came home with a new 61 Falcon two door wagon. I still remember the red dash with white knobs. That was back in the day when a three year old sat up front with the protection of moms arm swinging over to keep you in your place as needed. Lol

Mopars, in particular the Chrysler "astrodome" gauge clusters were a favorite of mine.

There's a great book by David Holland, titled "Dashboards". It features a mix of iconic dashboards from vintage domestic cars and european classics. Very inspiring, especially if you're building a custom dash or modifying one.

I liked too many, but had a few fav.s;53 Studebaker over all hardtop low coupe made it's dash a fav. for me.
But 53 Desoto dash by its self was a tunnel casting of 3 holes that I liked so much,I put one in my custom Henry J.
I always liked wood dash's too, even kind of made one for my hot rod. IMG_3166.JPG

As Dana Barlow said, the '53 Desoto dash is a great one. Of the cars that I've actually owned, two of my favorites are the '54 Desoto and the '57 Cadillac. The Cadillac, BTW, had different vents for the heat and air, completely separate systems.

  11. Nothing really wrong with the stock 1954 Ford Dash board.

But when I was building our wagon I wanted to add real world gauges and do away with the idiot lights, I also added creature comforts like air and make it appear as though it could have come from the factory in this configuration, I relocated the lights & windshield wipers to where the fresh air vent controls were located on ether side of the steering column, I also removed the clock and the heater controls and made a new insert using the original machine turned pattern. I love the Lincoln Zephyr dashes and would look killer in a early 30s Ford

Dash I remember most was a '52 Ford Pickup, Yard/Plow truck that I learned to drive on at about eight years old. Favorite dashes are Chrysler electroluminescent clusters and chrome trim of the early 60's (with swivel seats it was THE coolest cockpit ever). This Dual Ghia dash is pretty sexy too....

The first old car dash to make an impact on me was my Grandmother's 1960 Dodge Dart. Running errands with her as a young lad in the mid-late 60's, I recall the dash looking like a spaceship. The whole car looked like a spaceship to me. It had the pedestal clock which displayed the time via rotating hour and minute wheels. The "minute" hand was a tiny orange ball that rotated around the clock once every 60 seconds-hence the nickname "satellite clock". The steering wheel was incredible too.

My first older american car was a 51 Buick. I remember the "feelgood felling" when I cruised it down the road with that massive chrome centerpiece, the lights and old music playing :) ). That was 35 years ago. It still gives me a thrill with my 48 Ford too. Its something special about those old interiors. 35813646012_29f030eac0_b.jpg

A few I came across during my many searches for the "perfect" dash for my project.

Mine is all business, but it is a ‘job rated’ dodge pickup.

I’m a little jealous of the fancy ones dripping with paint and chrome and the deco and space age stuff 2E7F5218-C8A9-4858-83AC-F7F351030F01.jpeg
