I put a 57 Oldsmobile rear end out of an old hot rod setup with a buggy spring in my 1936 Ford pickup I have some 50’s Oldsmobile rollers on it right now but I would like to find a skinny steel wheel 16” x 4”-5” Like a early ford wheel to run on it that is the 5x5 lug pattern I don’t want a new aftermarket wheel. if I don’t find a wheel I’ll drill the axles for big Ford pattern but trying to find a pair first what years or makes should I look at thanks

most of the non-Chevy GM cars in the 40s-50s should have what you need....happy hunting, and measure three times before you buy

Part of that might depend if and what you want to run for hubcaps if you run them. You could probably find some correct width hoops to put on Olds centers fairly easily as another route to go.
I like the idea of having the same pattern front and rear though as even if you don't tend to carry a spare around locally you might want to take one with you on a longer road trip.

    O
49/early 50's Pontiacs might have narrower rims than Olds or Buick.

The Olds rear is around 59.5" flange to flange, so if yours is full fenders, you need a wheel that very shallow dish to keep tires under the fender edges.

I use a 55 Olds rear. I once was going to use 16, and the best choice I researched was later 40s Stude that kinda looked like a Ford center. They were pretty skinny, so I added/widened 1" on the back side of the rims.

Then I went 15" to go tubeless and had trouble finding a very shallow dish wheel to get the tires under the fender lips. The best wheel I tried was 56 Olds. I run 760-15 which are skinny tread and they look fine.

(fronts are 40 Ford centers with 60s VW 15" hoops and 670-15 )

There's a list of 5x5 wheels somewhere on the HAMB. I think you'll mostly find 15"ers (lots of 14"ers, too).

For what it's worth... when I got new axles for my narrowed 59 Pontiac rear, I left out the 5x5 and went with big Ford and Chevy patterns.
