    Not the point of the post, but the derelict plane is a Douglas B-18 “Bolo” bomber, a pretty rare and weird bird to show up randomly in a pic, lol. Obsolete by the U.S. entrance into WWII, one of them got a Japanese sub kill off the west coast, while on maritime patrol.

    EDIT: I was wrong about the Japanese submarine and the west coast. B-18s flew patrol in the Caribbean, where one sank U-654. The British, who also operated B-18s, scored additional U-boat kills with them. This according to Wikipedia.

    That series of photos is from a Flordia/Miami website so that plane was in that area at one time :)
