Picked up this axle today and I'm trying to figure what it is.possible 32? Looks like a crude drop to it notice the stepping on the ends.appears that the perch boss was cut down to fit different year wishbone.any help is appreciated. 20191121_143008.jpg 20191121_143016.jpg 20191121_143033.jpg 20191121_143056.jpg 20191121_143106.jpg 15743757120911024849401844527812.jpg

The 2" perch bosses were only on 32-36. All other years before and after, were the 2-1/4. Being that the 32 "heavy"beam is taller in profile, the boss will look like it was cut down, but it's actually stock machining . A 33-36 beam won't look cut because it's a shorter beam profile.

I think "Dago" was short for San Diego. It was just a style of dropped axel. Mine is on a car that was built in New Mexico in the early 50's. DSCN1236 (3).JPG

Even though it's kinda ugly, it's still worth all of $300 to 400. Those hammer dropped authentic axles are growing in popularity. Nobody drops them like that anymore, so you know it's a real old axle.

I went to a lot of work to make mine all nice and smooth and get all those hammer marks out. Maybe I made a mistake. lol
